What do you mean by note 10 series? There's already a note 10 series. How can there be another one?

Ellen Dale, 24 May 2021I don't understand why people hype up oled so much I... moreBecause the most popular Android flagship model such as Galaxy S and Note series and all latest iPhone use AMOLED. Latest Huawei P flagship and Mate also (very popular before Google ban them). They choose AMOLED for their premium phones instead of LCD. So, normal people (not geek) think AMOLED is better than LCD. As simple as that.

We all know how "Independent" they are... ;)

And dependent where you live, the mid-range M & F series are totally unknown. Even i personally didn't know that Samsung had another two smartphone series, just a couple of months ago. They aren't sold in my country.
They are many phones recently, but i think that's because we are in a transition period from 4G to 5G. Some countries have already good 5G networks and others didn't even began with it.

Yes I'll admit that Xiaomi is worse but also consider that Xiaomi and poco are now independent entities so that's two of those 37 devices you mentioned that don't count. Both are as bad as one another. It's not a Samsung versus Xiaomi debate. My point is a lot of android manufacturers are taking the piss now with releasing way too many devices.

We have Redmi note 10, note 10 pro, note 10 pro max and note 10 5G. Now how will the rest be called?? Maybe just an S to the number to get note 10s, 10s pro, 10s pro max and 10s 5g. This naming madness should stop. Furthermore, I suspect that there will be minimal changes in the devices with only the camera bump redesign just like the new poco M3.

The jist of the matter is this guys:
                      1. Rename devices to confuse customers.
                      2. Produce at least 50-60 devices a year.
                      3. Stop updates - android and security patches after a year.
                      4. Provide fast charging (anything above 33W for a 5000 mAh battery is not a necessity) causing quicker battery degradation.
                      5. Intentionally slow old devices (Apple & OnePlus)
                      6. Pay crappy YouTubers (Trakin Tech and Technical Guruji) to promote your devices.
                      7. Use low quality materials
                      8. Intentionally give software updates that downplay your camera and slow your charging speed

Tada, people end up buying a new device 1.5 year later because nothing is more frustrating than a slow device that fails to be useful in times of need.

In my opinion, the following components should be present in an ideal phone:
                      1. 120Hz FHD+ OLED or LCD screen
                      2. 3.5 mm port and expandable memory
                      3. Dual SIM
                      4. A decent pair of cameras like iQOO 7/Pixel devices (Primary, Ultrawide/Macro, Telephoto/Depth sensor)
                      5. A GaN charger 33W preferably (middle ground - not too slow or fast)
                      6. 5G bands (optional)
                      7. Intra band and inter band Carrier Aggregation
                      8. Although people don't speak about this I personally like the Infrared Sensor that comes with Xiaomi devices.
                      9. Dual stereo speakers.
                      10. 5000 mAh battery.
                      11. Notification LED or corner panel lighting feature like ViVo devices.
                      12. FM radio.
                      13. Capable processor like Snapdragon 855.
                      14. IP rating if possible.

If mobile companies are what they say they are, then
                      1. No wireless charging (Takes longer and wastes energy by heating)
                      2. Provide in box GaN charger (durable and safer)
                      3. Provide Removable battery or at least changeable battery
                      4. Provide a decent pair of HEADPHONES, USB OTG, TYPE C - 3.5 mm CONVERTER, DECENT BACK CASE (like ZenFone 8), PRE APPLIED TEMPERED GLASS ---- in box (pay extra but comes in the same package as the phone).

Companies pretend to reduce waste but cause us to buy each and every accessory separately.

The reality is they are corporates and they run for profit, it does not matter what's good for the consumer or the environment.

sq2013, 24 May 2021Oh look Samsung just launched a new phone lol. The M22. Sti... moreSamsung, despite being the biggest Android Smartphone manufacturer worldwide, has brought "only" 22 new models to the market. Xiaomi on the other side, is currently at 37(!) in just five months, since the start of 2021.

Samsung's model numbering is very easy to understand. Because they are logical and numbered with the right order (one extra number per year+ if it's a 5G enabled device).
Samsung's flagship models: S, Note, Fold and Z series.
                        Entry- to mid-range models:
A-series, M-Series (online exclusive with bigger batteries, for developing markets/sometimes in Europe too), F-series (exclusive for the Indian market, sometimes sold outside too).

No more Xiaomi phones for me until they bring back gestures with third party launchers. It's just not good enough to force the default launcher.

I paid 292 euros for the Poco F3. No word of a lie, I'd have paid the same price if it had been an LCD display. The actual difference in quality is about ten percent or maybe 20% but then some LCDs are amazing looking and some amoleds look like trash. Bottom line is that it is legible and easy to use on both types of display.

AnonD-1000793, 24 May 2021Lol, you put Exynos and Snapdragin versions as two differen... moreI'm not denying Xiaomi are putting out to many phones. Way too many. But so are Samsung. The 4g and 5g variants are totally different phones with totally different specifications and prices so why wouldn't I separate them lol? The Samsung A42 and A42 5G are totally different phones.

                                        sq2013, 24 May 2021Really? Samsung A42, A42 5g, A52, A52 5g, F52 5g, M42 5g, ... moreLol, you put Exynos and Snapdragin versions as two different phones. Also 4g and 5g variants as separate.
Good, then multiply that number by 3 and you will reach the number of Xiaomi phones released recently.
But keep the same approach (put 4g 5g variants separately, also all rebranded models as separate; for each country too). Because you did the same with Samsung models (you listed some models that are not released globally). I mean, if we are playing this game, at least do it right.
And then come back to me with the number. You will be surprised, lol.
