AnonD-25865, 12 Oct 2012it's good if they just strip the screen down... More screen... moreI think u dont understand strategy. One flagship phone. Y would they create so many different sized flagship phones. Updates will take longer and cost money. 20Mil s3 sold despite people complaining about screen size. They prob have the most successful android to date.

Finally phone makers focus on usability and not just screen size - this and the Motorola RAZR M. I like to have a powerful chipset to give a smooth UI and a big battery to last a full days heavy use. By I hate carrying a ping-pong bat around, and I dislike wasting battery to light up a big screen which isn't really big anyway. If I want to do something where screensize is imporant, I settle down in front of a 50 inch screen - not 4.8 inches. If you try to make a one fits all phone, it certainly won't fit in anyones pocket.

I don't think they should have called this "S3 mini", it's very misleading. Besides the appearance of the housing this device doesn't have any (hardware) similarities with the S3. Don't know why Samsung felt there was a need to make a launch event for such a device.

So basically saying it's just rebranded Galaxy Ace 3 and it has nothing to do with Galaxy S lineup.

I think everyone's quite disappointed by the phone. I can see a lot of casual buyers eating the phone up due to its SIII lineage, but tech enthusiasts will know its rather just a shell.
The Novathor chips aren't that great & the screen should've at least been 720p even if it was with a Pentile layout. Underwhelming and just a cheap gimmick!
When you attached the word Mini against the SIII, we at least expect the same basic specs, but it doesn't match up anywhere. Sigh...

Why would Samsung release a phone which is basically a Sony Xperia U? But in this case their charging twice the price? And for what? What a waste, a small really powerful phone could be done, apple have proved it. FLOP!

AnonD-25865, 12 Oct 2012it's good if they just strip the screen down... More screen... moreThe marketing strategy of this is solely on the name "Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini". There is essentially no large gap between this, the Ace 2 and the S Advance. And to me, I find the S2 (which is a year old and higher spec'd than this mini) to be compact. I'd actually buy it over the regular S3 before even looking in the direction of the mini.

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2012Ok, that was taking it a bit too far, wasnt it? A HTC can n... moreit's because HTC doesn't use dirty tricks like Samsung to make customers fall into their trap... Been with many HTC devices now using HOX n I must say their Software+Hardware is good. Ppl just do not recognise it because they don't do fancy tricks (S Voice, Smart stay etc that are pretty useless) n didn't make their names "big" enough...
I'm tired of seeing Samsung's act to pull itself to top with flooding the market with "troll phones".

J, 12 Oct 2012Right? I can't believe people actually thought Samsung was ... moreit's good if they just strip the screen down... More screen size of a Flagship phone for diff ppl's need is a good strategy. U r the one who doesn't understand the marketing strategy here... Samsung always make silly mistake *facepalm*

Another Cheap Troll phone by Samsung... cheap, fugly Soap design...
They r making so many mistakes with this single device, what ppl want is the same Flagship experience like S3 in a smaller packet and they just strip everything down n give us a lousy Galaxy spinoff that is unfit for Galaxy S3's name... "Disappointing Samsung" as always... Apple has made btr 4 inch device here, that's truth (no fanboism)

How come nobody except Apple makes a 4 inch phone with good specs and better battery life?
All Android flagships are gigantic, I want a great phone which I can easily use with one hand and put in my pocket. Now I am thinking to buy the Razr M, being the smallest 4.3 inch phone and with a decent battery.
