I don't understand why AMD insists on putting their newest and most powerful graphics in competitor's APU's instead of their own. It would have been nice to have an AMD APU with Navi/RDNA graphics in the past 4 years. Or even at least the same Vega M GH that they provided for Intel more than 3 years ago. Instead, AMD's own APU's get scraps.
Until the last year, Intel had been mostly stagnant since Skylake launched in 2015. It seems both companies just aren't motivated to release the best product on the market. Very strange.
Also, AMD really needs to implement Thunderbolt ASAP. Now that Intel has caught up in terms of performance and efficiency (and even value), there little reason to buy an AMD processor in a laptop. Intel's integrated graphics and single core performance are better. If they catch up with their manufacturing processes, AMD would be back to making some cheap chips for underwhelming computers.
I hoped we would see things heat up between the two.

Samsung would need to make internal space for cooling elements. If they throw in half-assed cooling for the sake of the thin form factor, the phone will be another spec sheet queen with no endurance.

Since last year AMD made PS5 and Xbox series X. Released ryzen 3rd gen desktop CPU and amd 6000 series GPU and now mobile phone SoC.

Nice! Their very latest Ryzen Mobile laptops have to make due with an aging Vega iGPU that can't even decode AV1 in hardware, but hey... priorities I guess.

Expect the next iphone to be even closer than the M1
