Wow its great. We need a new os, android is old now and lost the charm it had before. Now its too crampy like ios and not that really open source as it used to be. Ads on top of it has literally f....d the os badly. No privacy for users data is synced to the respective interested parties.
I once read a comment on this very particular website that a lady stated "God save the world from Google".

Or maybe just a simple way using Gspace (installed from Huawei appgallery). I'm using it on my P40 and can use most of the google apps. No hanky panky sideload needed.

If you really want a true Linux OS on a smartphone, you should be looking at Sailfish OS and also Linux-powered smartphones like Purism Librem 5 and PINE64 PinePhone, not Android.

So maybe, you have to redo the GMS installation all over again after having the HarmonyOS 2.0 successfully installed. There could be a possibility that the whole GMS port has to be rewritten for the new version of the OS. We never know, really.
P.S Even the link to the video you attached is actually sourced from Bilibili, which is basically China's YouTube.

Huawei has no idea if this transition would work for their phones with Google Mobile Services (GMS) installed. After all, Huawei was banned from using GMS, so that adds up more trouble.

I dont know how it works, and considering that the guy test it using Mate 40 Pro, a non-GMS equipped device, makes it even weird. But safe to say that older phone that already has GMS should be no problem running it.
