15 October, 2012
The device has recognizable Xperia design features, but doesn't deviate from the Nexus formula either.

Also a couple things you added into those specs are wishful thinking. So as it stands in most ways the s3 and the note 2 are way among best only outdone in a couple ways all by different device. not altogether by one device. and as most of these have not quite come out yet and some wont come out for quite some time Samsung within a few months will have another amazing device unless you have to wait for the s4 which will be in about 6 1/2 months and will denominate/destroy. and the exynos holds its on and has some advanteages

People still thinking that Galaxy S3 is still the best phone available on the market, the truth is that the SGS3 WAS the best for a short couple of month but unfortunately, Exynos quad core doesn't even beat a dual core S4 Krait. Now, we are waiting to see new Nexus devices with at least the latest S4 Krait pro quad core, Adreno 320 and 2Gb of ram along with a bigger screen, a compact body, 3100mAh or more juice in battery, a premium 8mpx/12mpx camera, 1080p video recording at true 30fps with bit rate over 24mbps and most important of all, A MICROSD CARD SLOT coz the 16Gb of internal memory is not sufficient for HD media and games. 5 years ago, we were lucky find a 4Gb/8Gb memory capacity in a smartphone, but since that everything is HD now, everybody will need at least 32Gb of memory for a perfect user experience.

nbeebe24, 16 Oct 2012You have a valid point about TV's, I'll give you that. Newe... moreYes, you're right. You don't have to buy this Nexus even if it turned out to be true. You can just skip it and wait for the next Nexus built by other manufacturer, which I'm pretty sure it will be out soon after. The good thing is, there will be at least some design diversity in Nexus series, instead of having the same style for now and (possibly) forever. So we can choose which Nexus is suitable for us.

Newer computers are still very aesthetically pleasing in a lot of cases though, the software is revamped to match the progression of the hardware design. I just think making a design like that would lose even more of the small percentage of Nexus lovers.

I've owned each one since the Nexus One and I would never purchase again if they started and continued on the above design path. It's outdated and just unappealing to me. The Lumia 800 looks worlds better than this

A car may look aerodinamic because it is aerodinamic to some degree. But a TV doesn't need to be aerodinamic, so the design may move towards simplicity and being merely a frame to separate the display from the rest of the world. When we look back to the early history of computer design, it was dominated by hardware visual design. But over time, the software visual design takes it over.

Of course a person would have his preference and style. But as far as I know, Sony has a strong design characteristic, rather than generic that's-ok-with-me-design. So people either to love it or hate it.

Do you see them getting more angular as years pass? No, they get more curvy and aerodynamic looking. There is a reason Sony is going down right now

Whutttt, how can you people say it is ugly? Either you guys are haters or really have bad tastes in design. My lumia 800 until now has been making me feel proud of the designs, unless I come face to face with an HTC or Sony phone. Hahahaha.

These images are heavily photoshopped, it's not legit! The front is from Xperia ion with Sony and other logo (Xperia/AT&T) removed, and the back is from Xperia T with a cut-paste of ion's aluminum back.

Apple can pretend their good at photography but nothing beats the experience of SONY in terms of photography. Apple using lens of crystal is a pure show of Apple's inexperience in photography, and now they say it's normal.

Nice to see some choice appearing in the Nexus segment. The Android OS has really matured doesn't necessarily need the customisations that a lot of the manufacturers add to it.
It's just a shame that they tend to spec their Nexus devices somewhat cautiously so as not to undermine their own flagships. I'd like to see one of the major manufacturers really concentrate on making a top of the range Nexus handset.
