Yes, an apple watch is good but a 30$ band can do almost the same for core functions(stopwatch, time, weather, sleep tracking, music control).
The area where a smartwatch is great if you go out with no phone and can receive calls on your watch connected to your wireless earbuds. However, this area is so thin I don't think it even exists.

    We talk here about OS of the watch, not build quality or speed of device, Because you can get good made smart watches and bands made from premium feel materials and still OS will drag them to bottom in terms of actual usefulness because of battery consumption.

        Optional, 07 Jun 2021It’s so frustrating that apple can’t make the battery last ... moreMine lasts 2-3 days. The only feature I've never put on is AOD and that's because I don't like it's look. Apple Watch 6 with 99% battery health. Bought last November.

                  What is the point if all Android watch and WatchOS users dont use all those features in everyday because they afraid to lose battery...

                  its just really funny that when I ask my friends that have watchOS or android watch what they do, they do the same what I do on my cheap smart band(sport tracking, notifications, music control, stopwatch/timer) and only when they want to show off they use other features. But I charge my device every 10-15 days, they need basically slap their watches on charger every day max two days...

                  Smart watch/band should be assistance to phone, not its replacement, we are looong way from that with current technology, so why bother?
