So if you care of give money to China, environment, etc, not buy HMD products then. As they do business with China manufaturers that do all that bad things you mention and ordering cheap generic phones to China and then asking PREMIUM prices. Which is even a worse thing. As instead of, at least, offer good product with exclusive design and a great service for how much they ask... they sell you cheap overpriced phones. They are only milking their rented brand and not caring about environment, workers you mention, etc. How much do you believe they pay for those cheap phones that resell you a lot more expensive? The less they can so those workers can't watch the profits they do by fooling people with their rented brand.

Be it the charging socket (mine was replaced thrice and is not able to charge above 5W yet) or the cheap eMMC 5.1 in a €600 phone (8.3 5G) or €400 phone with SD480 (X20)
Even Samsung and Apple offer better value than this. Yes, SE 2 with A13 Bionic is available for €320 compared to €400 X20 with SD480

Creating sustainable manufacturing is costly
Workers need to be properly paid
Waste need to be properly disposed
All of this are affecting the cost and will impact the final price to the customer
There is no free lunch
Why do you think Chinese phone can be sold at such a low price?
Because they spend none in waste management
Because they underpaid their salve workers

Somebody, somewhere or the environment is paying for that cheap flagship of yours

The only good thing from HMD was the "Android One" program. But, as it seems, the program hasn't been much apart from its objectives than currently, making the Nokias the worst choice of smartphones today. HMD should quit altogether.

C20: 169.9 x 77.9mm 1/2 GB RAM, 5 MP camera, 3000 mAh battery. 90 euro
Nokia made the Plus version to laugh at people who got the non Plus version.

People who are complaining about this phone are missing the point of such phones. These phones are made for people such as seniors, students, temporary phones and first time smartphone users so a non-competitive price tag is ok imho since Chinese brands cater for people who demand high on-paper specifications. And also not everyone is a fan of bloatware so this isn't bad at all. Even the sightly more expensive Galaxy M02 runs on the same processor as low end Energizer phones and has a lower micro-usb version
