Android 12 Beta 2 can show the duration of the current call in the status bar

14 June 2021
This means the duration of the call is always visible and you can tap on it to get back to the phone app - no need to open the notification shade.

Nice, I'd like this Android 12, best. Android ever, waiting for final stable version and also waiting to buy any smartphone until they installed Android 12 at native..

Vivo do this by default - also Vivo have call auto recorder :P

There's nothing spectacular about this feature, OS12 I see as a refresh to the android UI which most OEMs won't use rather slap their own skins over it.

I reject to be fooled anymore, I use what I have til it either get damaged, stolen or lost.

If they evolve this design and features with Fuchsia it will be great starting point

Kingslayer, 14 Jun 2021I saw the MKBHD video on Android 12. It definitely got a ma... moreIt's true but I think that smartphone manufacturers and developers are simply running out of ideas. There's only so much you can do with a 6.7 inch smartphone. I think that the innovation is gone. It's a very stale segment. There's nothing going on. Every single phone is pretty much a clone of the last. Slightly different processors, smaller bezels different styles of notches or front camera inserts, slight difference in battery sizes and speeds. Last big innovation was variable refresh rates but even that's no big deal. On my Poco F3, I tried 120hz and then 60hz. The speed difference wasn't massive but the loss of battery life meant 60hz is what I use. The overlays or skins are just a slightly different way of showing the same stuff. I don't know if the creative people are not good enough or is it just simply they've run out of ideas. I mean the new innovations are folding or flip phones that cost a thousand euros. It's all very dull.

If you or me get unlimited calls then what's the use of this gimmick, SERIOUSLY 😱

This feature is in Xiaomi phones since MIUI 11 onwards! Google doing an Apple?

Why the ugly yellow colors? It looks so bad

If its not by "Phone" app, would it work by non-Google phone apps, like Samsung dialer?

This is already a feature on my phone since Android 10..

I saw the MKBHD video on Android 12. It definitely got a major visual redesign. But at the end of the day, they're just aesthetics. Doesn't change how we use our phones. All OSes are like this. A graphical update every 3 to 5 years. Another fresh new coat of paint on top of the OS.

Or you can just move the phone away from your ear and look at the screen. What a waste of recourses.

                            ui looks so dulll

I have the feature on Huawei(even without Android 11). smh Google is way too behind the likes of Samsung.

MIUI has that feature for almost 4 years

                                    Neat feature.
