I don't see any changes in MiUi 12.5. My phone was smooth from MiUi 12 already. And chances are, that every powerful Xiaomi phone out there was the same.
MiUi 12.5 is just Xiaomi marketing and you kids are buying anything Xiaomi said.
Bottom line, MiUi 12.5 is not good or bad, is just a normal update like all the others. Xiaomi make it sound like some ground breaking thing, when in fact is not.
Stop being blind fanboys of a particular brand and think for yourselves. Or even better, buy the phones and try them (like I do), instead of relying on other people opinions.

I actually returned my S21 Ultra (Exynos) for Mi 11 Ultra. Been a Samsung Galaxy user for a decade.
Mi 11 Ultra isn't some budget Xiaomi running miui from the past.
Mi 11 Ultra will only get better with time.

I had 3 budget friendly Xiaomi phones and I will never buy Xiaomi phones in this segment ever again. If I would ever want to buy something from this segment, I would go with Oneplus or Realme even if Xiaomi has prices that can't be beaten but just like you said, down the line you will see why they are so cheap ... Xiaomi never invests a lot of money in making a smooth UI.

But 1 year down the line, many of those Mi11 Ultra owners will curse the day they bought that expensive phone, just because some software update broke something in their phone. While your S21 Ultra will continue to go strong.
Even though, no company has perfect software updates (because that is the case when working with software), at least Samsung has better updates than anyone right now in Android world.
Personally, I will never buy an expensive phone, unless is Samsung or Apple. No matter how good it is on paper.
For more budget offerings, yeah, I will definitely go with Xiaomi or Realme, because some of their models have better performances than other mid-range or budget phones (because they're using better chipsets).

Fanboys will always be cancer because they have no real life, no occupation, their life is boring, meaningless so they have a lot of time on their hands to show hatred towards other people because they are not using Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi etc. In real life nobody cares what phone you have and the phone you bought it means it's the best for you. I have been bashed by Xiaomi users also because I have the S21 Ultra and I didn't buy Mi 11 Ultra. So ? I just ignore them. These trolls don't have a high IQ so this is the only they can do. If people would stop wasting their time on them, they will not have anything to say. So, in the end, just enjoy your day and don't waste your time with this cancer called fanboys. PS : most of those who bashed me for having S21 Ultra are using Poco X3, Redmi 9 and other low end devices like this. Only 10% of this fanboys will actually buy Mi 11 Ultra or something more expensive than 200 bucks from them. Showing so much verbal violance and hatred to a person that you don't know based on a phone they are using, makes this trolls worst than cancer. The worst plague in this world actually. Peace :)

I bet you don't turn off GPS or WiFi or mobile data when you aren't using them right? I bet you don't switch the resolution in YouTube videos either right? Sorry but if you don't want to tweak a few setting which can easily done during setting up the phone, then you have bigger issues, it's called hatred for Xiaomi as a brand. Get well soon!!

[deleted post]I'm a Xiaomi user, but I have the right to hate Xiaomi's baked-in ads implementation. I literally don't see the point of owning a phone with ads that you have to turn it off manually even if you say it's easy. That is why I'm not owning a Redmi or Poco phones because of the ads. Eventhough MIUI has never been my favourite UI, Mi phones doesn't have ads.

[deleted post]"Nah first you say ads still can't be disabled". Explain to me about this part from GSMArena's Poco X3 Pro review: "You can't do the same for the File Manger through, meaning complete removal is impossible." That thing shouldn't happen if you say ads can be totally disabled. That is outright cheating.

"Any smartphone user can do this if they don't want to see ads". I actually doubt that. A lot of Xiaomi owners still complained about ads coming back despite having them disabled. There's quite a lot of discussion of it in XDA and Reddit.

Xiaomi lover. Hahaha. Do you even own a Xiaomi phone? Or did you own any Xiaomi phones in the past 2 years?
You guys are laughing at Sony, Apple, Samsung, etc. fanboys who are blindly defending their brands, but do the same with Xiaomi. Isn't it the same thing? Or just because Xiaomi is on the wave now, you have a good excuse to be a Xiaomi fanboy. Lol.

You do realize that people have different opinions and preferences. Some people might like Xiaomi, other people might dislike it. Just get over it and stop defending the brand like you have shares on the company or something. Lol. The fact that some guys dislike one brand or another, doesn't make it a bad brand.
