Where the screen glass ends there starts the 1-2mm of the ruggedness. Thats basically same as you buy a thicker case on a phone. And there are rugged phones out there that are smaller screens. Have all types of interesting features also like temperature scaling cameras and infrared cameras.

Basically brands this site is not talking about like Ulefone, Doogee, Umidigi and Blackview

I feel the phone can have better display with snapdragon 870 on it and 8gb with 128gb and 256gb for us the engineers also have some really good cameras for our photos that we take on the job with a good battery life and the zforce type of glass or shatter proof kind of glass on the display that makes it top teir and it will sell very well I tell you motorola for some time now I have not been able to buy motorola Cox they stop performing using top teir snapdragon or even 865 can do the job with good specs and we will buy it hands down.

That SD 662 is ridiculous, they couldn't go with something a little current?

                      "720x1600"
Because rugged feature is so awesome, you need NOTHING else in it. Other than a damn high price to make people think it is somehow much more than just $50 hardware inside + $10 case outside.

I have a few of their Force series phones and altho they are quite old now they have performed better than any rugged phone can, I believe. That shattershield works flawlessly after all these years and they really need to put that in the Defy phones

I do hope that Motorola will reintroduce their ShatterShield technology. I'm really loving that screen protection a lot from my Moto Z2 Force.

I had the original Defy years back. It fell twice from our second floor lobby, down the stairs, and rolled finally to the floor. No cracks, not scratches, working fine. It also fell into a pool, maybe 1.3 meters deep, and was not recovered maybe for about a minute. I removed the battery, sim cards, etc. Shook the water off, and let it dry under direct sunlight for about 3 hours. It still worked!
I wasn't able to use it when the batt won't charge anymore.
                            Very good phone.

How rugged is your phone if you don't even use your patented ShatterShield technology for the display?

I have the impression that the potential buyer who's looking for a rugged, fairly basic smartphone, wouldn't mind having a smaller 6 inch screen or even 5.5. Compactness might be preferred. This thing is huge! 6.5 inch screen on top of the ruggedness that demands an increase in size! On another note if it had the same design on top as it is on the bottom it would look like a Nokia 6670.

So basically a G30 in Defy avatar. Decent specs for most regular users.

The Android 10 seems a bummer though.

I would need atleast 6-8gb of ram and 256gb storage with 7xx or 870 cpu. Guess, would eventually get it. But can't wait for it.
