Qualcomm confirms Snapdragon Wear 3100/4100 “capable” of running new Wear OS

Although they are capable, it may not translate to a guaranteed update for existing wearables.

Ah yes, Windows Vista capable.

The issue is that I have had a few wear os watches over the years and they have been forgotten about by the manufacturer in terms of updates but mainly by Google itself.

Now they are focusing on wear os to become a good os they are telling us to buy another watch but knowing Google they will try it and just leave it again so if they don't upgrade some of the older watches for us to see what it's like then it's just another gamble.

Now I don't use a wear os watch at all and I can't see myself returning to one of I have to pay out again

oppa99, 17 Jun 2021Came Out 2019, bought Garret Version, which came even later... moreFor no Google Pay support in Austria responsible is Google, not Fossil. It means no Wear OS has contactless payment support, not just the ones made by Fossil. Btw, Google announced support for 26 more countries in the near future, so you never know. It may come soon.

oppa99, 17 Jun 2021Bought a Fossil Gen 5 in 2020. Never again FossilLol you bought it like two years after it came out and you're complaining. Smh

oppa99, 17 Jun 2021Bought a Fossil Gen 5 in 2020. Never again FossilWhy "never again"? The Gen5 is a perfectly good watch, the best you WearOS you could buy at the time. Regardless of whether it gets the next version of WearOS, it's still a fine smartwatch - it won't suddenly stop working!
(I had a Gen 5 Carlyle and recently went to a Tikwatch Pro 3, certainly not because there was anything wrong with the Fossil - I wanted a bigger screen for my declining eyesight).

AnonD-1003038, 17 Jun 2021Knowing "Android ecosystem" vendors, that's ... moreOr...re-release old products under new name and higher price, changing just a minor hardware just for the sake to make sure it is not compatible with the new software.

Knowing "Android ecosystem" vendors, that's the last thing they'll do. They'll create new products instead and sack support of old ones so you'll have to buy new device if you'll want new OS. The never ending story of Android ecosystem...
