"Enthusiast brands will soon betray you", youtube channel tech alter said it right long time ago. At the end of the day, oneplus is a chinese company, moderated by chinese government whose aim is to spy on everyone. So coloros is a great option to do that even of that means losing a lot of customers.

Since when OnePlus care about its own customers? OnePlus has zero integrity, always lied again and again since the OnePlus 2. They asked their customers one thing, and then later do the opposite. What customers want doesn't have any effect on OnePlus management because it's just another BBK subsidiary. OnePlus is just their brand targeted towards western countries.
Don't be fooled by the youtubers. They all speak great about OnePlus because they get free review units. Don't waste money on OnePlus phones.

Also, google did not want their apps for windows phone.
There was nothing microsoft could do.
Chrome, gmail and youtube are the most used apps.
People want apps, not using gmail and youtube through browsers.

Last thing you would want to show as being a global company would be a vague statement. Consumers does not appreciate that. Relationships between consumers and companies does not work that way. Basic ethics ignored.

"Will Oppo have access to OnePlus user data?" - they don't respond to that and just mention that they will keep "storing" the data at the same location.
The entire thing is a lot of lawyer talk about the fact that a Chinese company is taking over the software and the data of OnePlus.

From the start it smelled, not to say stunk, of software unification. And that's exactly what will happen. And in all likelihood, with Oppo being the dominant one, ColorOS will be the only UI even if it gets renamed to look like a fictitious merger of ColorOS and OxygenOS. Maybe with some added OxygenOS functionality to appease OxygenOS fans. But it will be history anyway.
They have self-transformed and self-proclaimed as a premium brand. The brand of powerful, inexpensive phones, flagship killers and close to the developer community is already past history. It no longer exists as such, only its name remains.

Imagine if Microsoft actually cared about it, rather than make it sink along with killing Nokia in the process (thanks to Steve Bald-mer), the mobile space would've been much more interesting and diverse.
