AnonD-940827, 19 Jun 2021That just means that they don't care about the users. ... moreWhat do you mean has to be fully bought by Oppo? Oppo has always fully owned Oneplus

I guess it will go as it went with Hong Kong. ColorOS it is.

That just means that they don't care about the users. No wonder op is going down hill and has to be fully bought by oppo. Op lost it, Samsung lost it to amd and apple.

It all seems a strange move by OPPO if they do ditch Oxygen OS as that surely was OP's main selling point? Although if the Nord's are anything to go by regular bug free updates are already a thing of the past.

It seems if you now want guaranteed regular OS updates in the future then you're next device needs to be a Samsung or Apple phone.

YUKI93, 19 Jun 2021Maybe because people would think that OxygenOS in the futur... moreWell they could have addressed this from the start and reassured everyone but no, they did not. Either they don't know themselves what they'll do about it or they know it will generate backlash and they both want to waste time to get people to forget a bit and they want to build up some pretext/facade for the shift.

I wonder how they'll achieve that when Oppo has been garbage when it comes to software and policies on how long phones are supported. OnePlus was probably the best example from the BBK Electronics group and now they are dumbing it down to make it better? How?

OnePlus is the next HMD Global. Users are already switching to competent brands especially Apple. OnePlus devices are now just hype over the real deal. After OnePlus 6T, the brand just dwindled.

Maybe because people would think that OxygenOS in the future would be a carbon copy of ColorOS but under the disguise of a stock UI skin, just my guess.
