Lots of environmental pollution by Samsung. With the same money one can get an iPad which is way faster, runs better and more apps and it can last for years.

And its got faster ram too. This will be enough for every chromebook task. Only the emmc will hold it back.

Anonymous, 23 Jun 2021celeron, chromebook, emmc 🤢Exactly... at the very least switch out that emmc to a lowest grade SSD could have somewhat added some appeal. OR this thing better not exceed $400 (highly doubtful) RRP because then people would be better off buying used Thinkpads. Heck even those goes for way cheaper.

rizki1, 23 Jun 2021this celeron is more than enough even for windows OS.I mean, it CAN run Windows 10, provided it's the ONLY thing you're running.

I have an old HP Stream here and it's worse to use and worse at multitasking than a slow $150 smartphone using a Cortex A73 based processor.

It only hasn't gone to the trash because I was tinkering with Linux on it - and the package updater of a lightweight Linux distro is enough to bring the dual-core Celeron to it's knees.

If Celeron CPU is already slow enough when running Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC, then it won't be any different than Chrome OS. And being a Chromebook laptop, it won't be cheap.

Then in half a year after many software installs & windows updates, that cpu won't be strong enough to complete even 1 task without stuttering.
I won't suggest buying something with Celeron or Atom to anyone.

These specific ones are recycled Atom cores, but there are also desktop dual-cores (without hyperthreading) using proper big cores.

And yeah, a notebook with a dual-core Atom SoC is just a form of psychological torture inflicted upon us by Intel, especially these older 14nm Atom cores. I wouldn't wish them upon my worst enemy. It's simply not enough to run a full operating system, even one that's not as bloated with garbage, tracking and spying as Windows 10 is.

Chromebooks aren't bad. But I think if they were a little expensive everyone will go for Windows.

Is the TFT panel quality similar to IPS or TN panel?
