sonyfan, 22 Oct 2012How could it be a downgrade to go from a S3 chipset to a S4... moreHe's not talking about the S3 chipset series by Qualcomm, but the S3 phone model in the Galaxy series by Samsung.
And he's pretty much right. Sony is still playing catch up. For example, they need to release that phone now to lead the industry along with HTC, but the CES is too far away. Similarly, Sammy will be left behind 'till the Galaxy S4 launch in may (more than 6 freakin' months away) unless they have a spectacular Nexus to show on Oct 29th. A Note 2 owner here.

the question is if they will launch it world wide or if it is japan only again like the xperia sx was, which is my dreamphone! i hate how sony divides the world in 2. and if the phones are comin world wide they still reserve the way better phones for japan and the rest of the world gets the international crap. xperia t vs xperia tx. the xperias t's sd card slot "solution" ruined the phone! the tx is way better.
but samsung isn't better in that point.

Anonymous, 22 Oct 2012I don't think Odin will be released before end of this year... moreThere are some reasons. If you ask any S3 owner they can tell you that Odin should have been released long ago for Sony to catch up.
No one will want to go from a S3 to a Xperia T/TX, it IS a downgrade, but going from S3 to Odin will be a no-brainer, massive upgrade.

I don't think Odin will be released before end of this year. It's definitely during the first quarter of 2013. Sony has released so many high-end phones this last quarter so there is no reason to release Odin or Yuga before end of this year as it affects sales of their newly released phones. Odin could be officially unveiled during CES January 2013 and maybe just maybe Yuga will be unveiled during Mobile World Congress (MWC) February 2013 in Barcelona, Spain.

Anonymous, 22 Oct 2012the earpiece grill is not centred. sony logo is not centere... moreYou got a good eye! Yep, it's a photoshop work. They would not put the logo in that place anyway, by knowing the Sony design mentality, i could say the logo would be on the left in this device.

is it Yuga or Odin?, 22 Oct 2012I thought Yuga, and not Odin, has the 1080p screen. So why... moreYuga has a stylus pen, like the galaxy Note II, and most likely a 6 inch display. Odin is a regular touchscreen phone.

- its release is soon

with so many leaks concerning it, I don't think it would be released in 2013 as the article says. It would be introduced soon - maybe on google's event, and would be released in the coming weeks.
Sony has learned the lesson not to speak about devices that their launch is not close.

I thought Yuga, and not Odin, has the 1080p screen.
So why do you refer to this model as Odin and not as Yuga?

Anonymous, 22 Oct 2012I have a note 2, its incredibly fast, the battery will last... moreI too have a Note II and dont get anywhere near your battery times. Sounds like you are living in the dark with low brightness. Yes i can also use my Note II with low brightness, but what good is great battery time when you sacrifice the great user experience. You have to admit that most movies look bad and low on detail on Note II with low brightness settings.
Thats one of the things that is so good with Mobile Bravia tech, you dont need that much brightness to enjoy full detail, and thats why i am sure the Odin and Yuga both will humiliate the Note II in video quality, i just hope Sony will not make one of their usual showstoppers, seems like they always do something to make their best products less attractive (like the missing cardslot on Xperia S, or the missing pen slot on Vaio Duo 11, noone know what they are thinking when they do so horrible things that hurts only themselves)
But i dont care, i like my Note II, im not gonna cry if sony screw up again.

haha, the Lumia 920 fans already saying this is too big display, they will repeat it now that "no phone should have bigger display than 4.5 inch". They really dont care that the 920 is bigger than a S3 and much bigger than a Moto Razr HD (4.7 inch).
Motorola and Sony already understood it, usability does not come from display size but from cellphone size. Nokia is way lost on sizes, so small displays in giant phone? If Nokia made Note II it would have 4.75 inch display and still be bigger than the Samsung.
5 inch full HD sounds delicious, but right now i have a Note II andi liek the size, so maybe Sony Yuga is the one for me (6 inch full HD display with Wacom digitizer stylus pen similar to what we seen on Sony Vaio Duo 11, Yuga is gonna be the first real competitor of Note/Note II)

AnonD-64064, 22 Oct 2012its faster by far more battery and ram efficient , but has ... moreI have a note 2, its incredibly fast, the battery will last 2 days with moderate use (13 hours watching video with all radios on) and has 2GB of ram which is more than ample.
