Appears Samsung is using a new chip so hoping battery life improves dramatically. And super excited about the new Wear OS as Tizen was so frustrating.

All I want to know is whether this Wear OS-based One UI Watch will have a better battery life than the current Tizen OS-powered Samsung Galaxy Watch smartwatches. Up to this day, I never experience more than 3 days of battery life when using Wear OS smartwatches. By contrast, I can get nearly 5 days from my Gear S3.

Haha, its like call this OS anything but WearOS; Samsung, you made a very bad move and you know it. With Tizen i had the illusion that my health data didn't land on Spygle's servers, but with WearOS i have no one.

kek, 29 Jun 2021I guess if you want a smartwatch nowadays, its either Apple... moreI run my watches with no google account on my phone and I only use 3rd part apps except for the new gboard, messages and phone app. Yes, OS settings as well if we want to nit pick.
In terms of privacy, i'll let you do your own research. Several privacy tzars from various nations and even the IAPP has details.
Everyone can vote with their wallet and choose their poison.

I guess if you want a smartwatch nowadays, its either Apple or nothing, because having Google on you all day is as bad as it sounds.
As for me, I'll stick to the old trusted watch.

It has always been their go to platform to test out new hardware while keeping prying eyes out.

the UI is square centric, it looks awkward on round watch
unlike the old Tizen, that looks fine on round screen

My Galaxy Watch 3 has Spotify and the battery life is quite good. charge every 4 - 5 days. Non LTE version.

What plagued Wear OS was that Google and chip manufacturers essentially abandoned the platform. With the recent news, it is very apparent that deeper investments are being made, and the experience should be improved. Samsung needs Wear OS for broader app support.
