People keep complaining about the storage but the iPhone's are one of the best selling phones and they're not expandable but there's no where near as much fuss when Apple do it. I work in telecoms and the 16gb version is the most popular variant my company sells.

Not bothered about storage. 16Gb enough for me. I don't need to store porn and a ton of mp3s on my phone :P
Please have a bigger battery than the Optimus G! That is more important ;). Design could be better too but the advantages of a Nexus device outweighs that

If there is no MicroSD card slot, then nexus 4 should have 32gb or 64gb internal memory. 16gb is deal breaker

If this comes with 8/16GB configuration and jugding by Nexus 7 treatment we may soon get a 32GB variant.

8 Gb is not enough memory, and not even only 16 Gb is enough! Today the smallest memory should be 32 Gb, and I would like phones to have 128 Gb internal memory!
I now use 9 Gb on my internal and 46 Gb on my external memory only for apps and gamedata on my S3, so I need atleast 55 Gb only for apps and gamedata but I also want memory for music and movies and pictures...
(I use "Gl to Sd" version 1.9.3 to move app and gamedata to my external 64 Gb sd-card, but no later version than 1.9.3 can do this and the sd-card must be FAT32, not exFat!)

LG does not want Nexus to be significantly better than it's Optimus line, so they won't include SD card slot.
Don't blame Google, blame LG.

Use the Google, young paduwan. Limited storage means you'll rely more and more on paid services from the force that binds the universe together.

Will this hold it's value like an iPhone? It's the only Android I would consider. I've enjoyed being able to sell more old iphones for top dollar, and then buy the latest one with a small investment.

Anonymouse, 22 Oct 2012No MicroSD card slot = no go for me. What is the big deal w... moreactually the micro SD has lower speed than the internal memory that's why they stick to internal memory not allowing people to add much memory for the speed of their phone (:

The issue with storage is part of a bigger picture with Nexus phones. The OEM's make less money from a Google branded device and so they limit certain features to make sure the phone doesn't outdo their flagship, at least to the lay-customer. The Nexus 4 is more or less a slightly diminished version of the Optimus G. No doubt it will offer better software performance with vanilla Android, if the specs are to be believed. The only way this problem will be overcome, and these phones to truly outshine their competitors, is if Google manufactures them themselves. But that would generate a whole host of other problems and significantly impact all the OEM's that have supported Android for so long.
