Because they do not trust the brand.
Yep a totally reliable and not annoying user experience from Xiaomi. /s
Whether I am a techie or not, I want a phone ecosystem that does need to be pruned like a overgrown weed infested garden to even use it normally when first activated. Like disabling ads using adb commands and removing bloatware. That is why Apple and google pixel or OnePlus are leagues above the rest. Even Samsung improved this year by not making FB undeletable anymore and including google feed.

Why are you so "triggered" about me saying that you use alt accounts to upvote your anonymous non account comments? Its just weird that each of your comments are the only upvoted by 3 points comments in this post.
And I am not talking about an obsession with likes but that you manipulate your comments to be in the top 3 reader comments when you open this story. of which 2 are coincidentally yours.
It looks like you are a Xiaomi fanboy TROLL promoter. :)
Hence why you insult like a kid. And apparently you do have the time to reply to my comments and also write whole paragraphs like me.

Alternate accounts? Upvotes? Lol I don't have time to make any account or log in. You are the one with account. You can upvote others, not me.
Must be other users Upvoting my posts as they might have agreed with what I said and they also clearly see thru your BS about being some hobby reviewer. You clearly can't even comprehend why they must be Upvoting.
"Xiaomi does indeed have a 5s wait time to click the OK on some important settings, due to legal stuff. You can try it on "your own" Mi 11 Ultra by trying to let say reset it. And the wait time is on installing Apks from the web. Just try to install the Apk for YoutubeVanced and you will se the wait timer."
Lol I have Vanced installed, never seen some warning, you probably have" install from third party app sources" turned off. You have to give one time permession to the app (in your case the file manager you are using to install apk file).
"Secondly I know you have a theme store like any android out there, but they don't change the UI elements. On Xiaomi they literally copied the thing if you pull down from the left corner you will get the notification bar and on the right corner you will get the system settings. Every other android has the notifications and quick settings combined, which I prefer"
Actually that was great. Xiaomi didn't make me miss The iOS style control center.
Your problem is again non existent. There is an option to either choose control center style notification or to default Android type. So I don't understand why you have a problem choosing that in settings. Most of these so called complaints can be fixed easily in settings and you br@g about using so many Poco, Redmi, Mi phones, yet you couldn't find this simple setting?
"Thirdly I was indeed speaking about the hotspot issues on the Redmi note 10 pro, Mi 11 Lite 5G and the Poco F3. All of our new units are affected. And the Poco F3s actually get bricked by the new update. Which is really unreliable and horrid to have these issues on brand new phones. If Apple released an update that would brick the phone, they would get eaten up by the web and sued to hell"
Your favorite Samsung also was bricking certain devices after updates. This is not an issue limited to Xiaomi devices. And Apple didn't release any update that bricks the phone, but they do roll out buggy updates all the time, especially the newer versions of iOS. They do get a lot of heat for this all the time.
"Fifthly you yourself admitted that upon activation the 1300eur phone is filled with crap bloatware apps"
So is Samsung filled with bloatware that someone might not need. Just uninstall it.
Problem solved! You on the other hand will complain on how that's bad when the time required to uninstall them is less that the time you took to complain. And this is all a one time thing. Another issue that is really a non-issue.
The last paragraph of yours is just sad. Getting tr!ggered because someone else got more upvotes...? Wow Sorry if that hurt your feelings. Get well soon! You have bigger problems 🔝 deal with than miui.

Fourthly If you even read that part of my first comments, you can see I also told you I know every company is collecting data. Its just the difference whether the company collects data to sell it for ads and for you to spend even more money, or that it collects data to entrap and dispose of dissidents and minorities in concentration camps.
Fifthly you yourself admitted that upon activation the 1300eur phone is filled with crap bloatware apps.
If you even own the Mi 11 Ultra of course, mr Anonymous whose soo insecure that he has to use fake upvotes to make his comments go on top. Like wtf only your own comments are upvoted with exactly 3 points in this article comment section every time. And through experience, nobody ever uses the upvote button on GSMarena since its useless. I know also you can turn off "most" of the adds, which you clearly also described on your website, judging by your name, https://www.androidauthority.com/remove-ads-xiaomi-miui-1019139/
But seriously its a bit tricky to most users to turn them off. Your own tutorial that you had written contains 10 steps, and one of them has the user go into A unusually worded settings section called security and revocation, to disable the MSA app.
I literally followed your own guide to disable adds on the Poco X3, but the MSA app was always reset and turned back on either after updates or after some time. The system apps though usually keep their settings unless you clean the app cache and data.

AnonD-876481, 01 Jul 2021One reason for why its not the best, " software"
... more2) Never experienced some confirmation 5 sec wait time before installing apps on my Mi 11 Ultra. Really don't know what you are talking about. Didn't read something like that in any of Xiaomi phone reviews from Gsmarena either
3) copying iOS ui and icons? Do you know how limited customization you have on iOS?
Miui has a full functioning theme store. You'll get lost in that huge world trying to customize your phone. Miui can look like iOS or whatever other skin you want. You can't change iOS much. Looks like you never bothered to check the theme store Mr hobby reviewer.
4) "All Xiaomi phones have someweird hotspot or connection issues here in Europe."
Really? All? On what basis? I am from Europe too. Never experienced Hotspot problems on my phone. If this was the case, some one would have mentioned it. You maybe just can't turn the settings correctly as its clear by now that you can't even turn of basic ads that can be turned off inside settings as easily as turning off WiFi or GPS.
Regarding other bugs, I didn't notice any on my Mi 11 Ultra. But I have heard Poco F3 and Redmi note 10 Pro users having some bugs after miui 12.5 update.
5) I can't help your own fears regarding Chinese brands. Thinking that American brands protect your data tells me you know nothing about how privacy is up for sale these days irrespective of the brand of your smartphone. Maybe you are one of those people who believe after watching Apple commercial that they care about your privacy. In reality, all these companies are the same. Google, Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi... You name it.
6) My mi 11 Ultra has been as reliable as it was on the day of me receiving it. The miui 12.5 update just made things even better than the already existing polished, reliable experience.
You are telling me that S21 Ultra is reliable?? How can you consider something reliable when the Exynos and Snapdragon versions give different performance, especially in cameras?

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2021Mi 11 Ultra has to be the phone of the year.
There is noth... moreOne reason for why its not the best, " software"
MIUI is completely annoying for power users. I tried different Xiaomi Poco, Redmi Note, Mi 11 series models as a hobby reviewer and an employed mobile phone contractor. Most people only mention the bloatware of cheap skate apps and games that are preloaded, or the multitude of adds inside system apps. But that's only the beginning.
The first thing I find annoying is the Xiaomi "security" app scanner which activates whenever you download an app from Google play or install an apk. You can't even install an app in the background and go back to browsing or text because it just pops up and makes you stay in the app scanner till it finishes. "Coincidentally" the app scanner sometimes shows those fake app or games adds, that you cannot ignore because the app pops up.
The 2nd thing I hate is the unskipable 5s confirmation wait time. Like every time you like to install an apk or change system settings, reset a phone, connect to a new device, you hate to wait 5s.
3rd thing is the blatant "we are copying iOS UI elements and Icons" thing. Hence why some former iOS users like the interface.
4th thing is the bugs and unreliability. All Xiaomi phones have someweird hotspot or connection issues here in Europe. Also the camera everyone praised on the Mi 11 series, takes a different colored/hued picture on each different camera, instead of having an uniform optimization like Apple, Samsung, Google.
5th may be only my opinion, but I really don't trust Xiaomi or other Chinese electronic companies with safekeeping my data they farm. I realise that Google or Apple also collect user data, but it comes down to the security of their servers. So I really wouldn't use any Crypto trading apps or wallets on Xiaomi phones.
So while these issues might not be so noticable to most users that use phones solely for social media and browsing, they are however really troubling to people who expect reliability.
Hence why Google pixels or Iphones are so praised its because of their optimization and reliability. Samsung S21 Ultra with One Ui 3 seems pretty reliable as well this year, since I am using it as my main phone this year.
