Google finally sends out July update to its Pixels

      In the meantime, Xiaomi devices are now getting May security patch. Always 2-3 months behind the times... Disgusting!

        I don't know who makes the current Pixel phones, but with Nexus phones it were multiple brands.

        Nexus One (Nexus 1) = HTC (the only Nexus phone with MicroSD slot)
        Nexus S (Neuxs 2) = Samsung
        Galaxy Nexus (Nexus 3) = Samsung
        Nexus 4 = LG
        Nexus 5 = LG
        Nexus 6 = Motorola
        Nexus 5X = LG
        Huawei Nexus 6P = Huawei

        Trivia aside I miss the Nexus series, Pixels tried to become something they are not, not to mention Google officially sold Nexus phones in my country but never the Pixels, even while we do have a Google store in my country that sells everything except the Pixels.

        Makes them even less worth to buy here.

          Well that bootloop issue with Nexus phones was more a Nexus 5X issue because LG made that one (and Huawei made Nexus 6P had other issues)

          Nexus 4 and 5 made by LG were probably the best Nexus phones ever made, aside from battery (I had always a battery pack with me back in the days when I had the Nexus 4, still the best phone I had in my opinion, extremely poor battery aaide)

          As for VoLTE and Google, damn guys your very late with that.

            Yes because it's such a massive delay to get a stoftware update on Wednesday instead of Monday.

              No, Vlad. This is not a "Pixel phones finally start to support VoLTE in 2021" news, as you are trying to suggest. Pixel phones supported VoLTE from day 1. It's just that there are new carriers around the world starting to support VoLTE and Pixel has to add their names and settings.
              Also, July security patch doesn't fix "a bunch of vulnerabilities ranging from high to critical" on Pixel. That's related to general Android security patch. Pixel phones which are more secure get their own security patch every month and there are mostly moderate vulnerabilities fixed every month. July patch specifically fixed 1 High vulnerability and 9 Moderate vulnerabilities on Pixel.

                  I got my Pixel 3a back in 2019, looking forward to regular updates and hence a reliable device. But every update, something new is broken forcing me to find a work-around. And this includes Google's own app updates as well. I've managed thus far, but with their Camera app now woefully broken (go read the Play Store reviews), the biggest selling point for the 3a at the time, my patience is wearing thin... What's the point of regular updates if it doesn't fix anything (let alone make things worse)?

                  I'm hitting two years with the 3a. Been a decent phone without breaking the bank, but all these small issues add up. My first, and last Pixel phone.
