With a laptop or surface pro with lte for mobile computing, why would anyome pay that much for cell phone unless they can only afford one device. Surface pro, cheap phone and ticwatch pro 3 and i'm set. Been gaming since the early 80s so i have a beast of a desktop (built 3 years ago) for any serious work productivity or the most demanding game with everything maxed out except ray tracing in a few titles.

                      Its good but still Im happy i bought used sd855 phone for 150$ last year. Not gonna waste for another 1000$ flagship for only like 30-50% better performance at 400%+ pricier

                        FYI this is the same guy who said exynos 2100 will be better than 888 and i bet he relies on his imagination instead of real sources so don't believe anything comes from him

                            Samsung has only been in the semiconductor business for how long again? Since the mid-2000s. In the 90s and prior, Samsung was a joke to people. They started off as a fish market. Know your history.

                            Listen, I bashed Apple for a solid 7 years straight after I sold my iPhone 4 in 2013. I hated Android initially before becoming a huge fanboy of it for the last 8 years. I'm still a bigger Android fan than iOS fan. I bashed Apple even before 2013. I bashed them when I owned the og iPhone 2G in 2008. But they've been in the computing game for nearly 50 years.

                            Google was barely born in 1998 and barely got into selling their own hardware until 2016. Google products didn't really come out until the first Pixel in 2016. Samsung and Google are still newbies with software and hardware compared to Apple.

                              Benchmark scores aren't everything. There's also thermal performance to look at as well. We definitely don't want Exynos 990 Mk2 all over again.

                                  And the M1 macbooks has a fan to carry away heat from the SOC. Why are you comparing Lap/PC chip with a mobile one?

                                      Almost all chips from 6xx are stronger than 800/801/805/808/810. Few are even superior to 820/821.
                                      All chips from 7xx series are above 820. Few are even above 834/845.

                                      None of midranges need copper pipers, vampor chamber or graphite.
                                      Stuff seen on phones that use 8xx chips.
