As you said, reviewers use these benchmarks to rank performance of phones but that's just the reviewers and not OnePlus. OnePlus optimises their phones in whichever way that serves their users best. Geekbench taking that as benchmark manipulation on the part of OnePlus is just ridiculous.

The word "test' should be a dead give away ,and it doesn't go well with "cheat". Get my drift :) and no phones have marketed themselves as " no.1 in antutu" , " best in dxomark" or " best in class" this benchmark are being used by reviewers/ enthusiast to give them a bearing on what
the model of the phone stacks up with other phones.

To be fair Geekbench was overreacting. OnePlus throttled some apps to help with battery life but Geekbench itself was not the target of any throttling or performance enhancement. Not sure why they appeared all offended as if it had something to do with them.
