actually, samsung phones I think only a few models are best selling like Note, Galaxy S. There are a lot of other models, do you think the rest are selling well?
Look around, all I see are Note and Galaxy S and sometimes Tab. I rarely see other models.
Please name me 10 other models beside the above-mentioned, that are selling well

so that Samsung profits is not only smartphone....meaning their smartphone's profit might even be smaller since their TV and monitors are popular

how can you call it a copy cat company. they make semiconductors and design chip-sets and software. They managed to keep handset prices down and are giving apple a real run for their money! Don't kill competition my friend embrace it....apple gets subsidies from the us govt for sure.....

it is a copy cat company with zero inspiration and it is hard to believe it would do as good if south corea is not protecting its market from outsiders while providing subsidies for export.... one day will come the truth as in Japan where monies become short these days also....

Samsung's IT & Mobile Communications (aka IM) division had most of the profit (you know the phone and tablet department).
IM: 5.63 (profit)/ 29.92(revenue) tril. won = 18.8% margin.
Apple: $8.3/$35billion= 23.7% margin.
You phandroids are basically upset over a 4.9% difference.
18.8% margin and that's for their entire mobile and IT division, including their low margin feature phones (which is half their handset sales) and low end Androids. In other words, those folks who bought GS3's and NoteII's are most likely paying Apple-level margins, or higher, on their phones. Simple enough for you or should I use smaller words?

Samsung manufactures Apple's chips for them. Not design. The retina display was designed by LG, not Samsung. Why do you fanboys think Samsung created everything. You're worse than the apple fanboys. Let me put it in terms you can understand. You, ATT Rep, are Samsung, and Apple is the guy in corporate in that shiny building in Atlanta who tells you what you can sell and when to sell it. He makes the decisions while you carry out the orders. Understand?

So how is samsung copying apple when they are using samsung products? Hmmmmmmm. BTW im an AT&t Representative so just to give you an idea apple put $150 worth of technology into the apple iphone 5 and yet they are selling the 64GB model for $975. On top of that during the lawsuit when apple brought out a quote from samsung saying to copy apple it was falsified documents. Actual quote says make somthing like the iphone but to surpass it which they have done in many ways. FYI i have owned apple products as well as samsung and HTC SONY and a few others so im not biased in anyway, shape or form. I just speak the truth.

I HAVE HAD 55 PLUS SAMSUNG HANDSETS,only because of brand loyalty,i am a proud American,but prefer Korea's tech. when it comes to phones,Japanese tech. when it comes to motor cars.Sammy has just been in the game longer and know what to do.

You're assuming that a dollar of R&D at Apple is equal to a dollar of R&D at Samsung. You're assuming that, what is essentially a software company like Apple, is equal to a hardware manufacturer like Samsung. You still don't want to say what is "reasonable" markup? How big a profit margin will you guys accept? Everyone here seems to be angry at Apple's profit margin. Well step up and put a number to it. Otherwise sit down and remain vague, but don't get upset when people treat you like whiny little children.
