12 July 2021
Samsung has high hopes for its upcoming foldables.

LG had it right with the V60 dual screen idea, but their lack of marketing is what killed their phone lineup. They never did really WANT to sell phones for some reason.

Anyway agreed with your price point, the phone need to be at least upgradable for 5 years.. even at that price.

As Fold2 owner, I stopped babying the phone after one month of use. Dropped it few times and all and not a single dent. The phone is very durable but yes it still may not be for the most clumsy users :D

Its business 101 , you reduce the price or remove the folding segment
Thank god samsung didnt came with the fold 1 at 5000$ and and now making the fold 3 at 1500$ everybody scream about how cool is that
Samsung just created the illusion of folding 3 being cheap by starting in the first place with a ridiculous price for trash product , breaking after few months

what are the advantages? bigger phone with smaller batteries? get out of here....

Where im at, the original flip now sells for 600 to 700 dollars on sale and the fold 2 sells for 1200 on sale. That said, even if im hoping for a better camera setup this new pricing makes me wanna swap my fold 2. I hope this lowered pricing for the foldables will mean significant price cuts for the S22 line ups too, hopefully an s22 ultra version in the $1000 max price.

I guess 3 to 5 years from now the prices could get.under €300, but then I guess more expensive phones (hopefully) solve the poor duruability of the screens.

Until the durability is shown to have been improved these are still novelty devices rather than practical options for most people. Hoping Samsung has solved the durability issues of previous foldable offerings, because the advantages are obvious.

The price reduction makes them even more exciting. Also, the design of the ZFlip was enough to inspire some copycat designs, beginning with an upcoming Xiaomi Flip phone (and Huawei too?)

mayga1, 12 Jul 2021Says the guy who probably owns and iphone or anything apple... moreSo true, $1000+ for the Flip3 is more than reasonable, and $1500+ is a good chunk lower than the last 2 models. Also these would go on decent discount within a few months making it an even sweeter deal. I just wish Mate X2 was similarly 'cheap'. It's already expensive AF in China, so if it were to officially launch outside, it'd be probably be $2500-3000!!

Too bad it won't have such a camera setup :(

Hiten, 12 Jul 2021overpricedSays the guy who probably owns and iphone or anything apple. they're the epitome of overpriced. Both of these phones have decreased in price since their initial iterations. Most others increase their prices exponentially.

1000 to 2000 bucks for a phone with zero durability screen no thanks.
