I stopped using everything Google like 3 years ago and replaced it with alternative services that actually care about privacy and some of them are even payable. I've gone so far that really only thing left was Android phone with Google stuff on it which I also ditched by going with iPhone. I tried with Android without Gapps, but the experience was horrible. Some apps just entirely refused to work, a lot of apps worked badly, I had to sideload apps from various questionable sources and my phone was on LineageOS's nightly channel only which means daily updates with bunch of minor or larger changes. I've been without Google for so long now I have mixed feelings for returning to Android as whole because of Google. But I wouldn't want to use it without because it's just really rubbish then.

The article is pertaining that google lens now has the capability to use your multiple saved pictures in your gallery, to search for a query rather than taking a picture using the app or having a single file loaded one at a time.

Nope, im using android as my primary os since the beginning (but an ipad lover as well) .Im just being objective and trying to imply that google are now trying to "seamlessly" integrated their tech in the guise of getting to our private data and if we are not careful, will be used indiscriminately. "The new design emphasizes on the ability to analyze already saved photos and screenshots rather than analyzing in a live preview."
Dont be to hostile, im just warning you, since i've worked previously for online companies that paid big bucks, just to know what type of clothes you wear in your sleep or if you just take vitamins with your coffee or things/actions you take for granted.

But, ADB will only disable or uninstall the apps for the current user only (user 0) if you don't have root access. This means that the apps process and services are still running in the background ,even though you've disabled them for user 0. You just can't access or see them because you're user 0. I hope you understand what I mean. So I'm not sure how much battery or processor power you save.
It is limited (without root), but quite handy to disable apps that annoy you and are have the disable button grayed out, like Bixby or other bloatware apps.

How is the photo "analyze", i... moreIt's online query unless you have the entire knowledge of interwebs on your phone.
You can do voice to text locally as it's highly specific task or converting text from image to text file which is also very specific task that you can do locally, but you can't look up a photo of monument and return a result what it is. It'll just have to do a query online.

Or is the info sent to a server, where the analysis performed?
I am just a tech nerd.

So, you can now do what you could for several years already? Gallery has been an option for decades. Screenshots too. Identify through lens has been in some camera apps for ages too.

You could always use gallery photos. It's just the Ui has changed.
