Like when they had severe and sudden motherboard failures for years all the way up to the z4 or z5?
And screens that basically cracked themselves back then. And it was so bad that if there was a hair on the screen the screen thought it was a crack the touch for majority of or the entire display would just go out. Lol.
Not to mention their subpar releases and marketing which is still just as poor to this very second.
And let's not even get into how atrocious their customer service was about these issues like the motherboards and cracks. Completely neglecting it as a defect even though the internet was filled with endless users having the issue. And then if it was out of warranty wouldn't even let you pay to have it fixed. Just yell you to buy parts online.
They even lied to customers and sold old devices as new ones.
Like the z3. For the few carrier releases they actually did back then.
The Verizon z3v was actually a z2. And its bad enough because the z3 was already basically a rehashed z2. But it at least had a couple key differences like display and speaker.
But no. The z3v was straight up a z2.
Or the fact that for the last 10 years their camera processing was lazy at best. Finally with these last 2 or 3 devices they have started trying again.
Can't match anyone in speaker or battery. Took years to match samsung in display color calibration. Now they are at half the brightness. And you can't even choose the resolution when other phones have let you for at least 5 years.
Let's not forget the xperia pro now with plastic frame and back. Plastic back I'm fine with.
But its still cost saving to them. And plastic frame is simply less durable, less expensive, and worse for heat management. Yet still $2500.
400 nits? Old chip? Small 4000mah battery with weak stamina? Weak speakers? Buggy software.
The 400 nits ruins the exact purpose it was made for.
The 5g performance is supposed to have better 5g antennas and be enhanced by the plastic. So its supposed to be leaps and bounds ahead but fails compared to the v60.
Yet still $2500....
But sure.....light years ahead

Not to mention it was always oh but there's an update coming that will fix that when it came to Sony fans. Especially camera. Oh there will be an update😂😂 and they've never had the most consistent software.
In fact if anything across numerous consumer devices Sony has been known for buggy software. Phones, vita, Playstation, that projector thing.
We get it though. You're life is over if you don't proclaim your lord and savior to be so abnormally superior to everything.

Sony has always received high praise for always being one of the first and foremost to make updates and even the most supportive of their devices in general!
To get a sense of how this works, Sony in 2021 updated some of its old devices that had up to 15 years of life as us cases of Playstation 3(2005/2006) Bravia TVs, Audio and Video Equipment(2005) and it was no different with the Xperia XZ 1, Compact and Premium(2016/2017), which also received tools to be able to have updates for Android 11.
All devices made by Sony, are made to have performance, durability and a lot of overall quality that compared to other manufacturers, Sony is light years ahead.

They can turn on the refresh rate display feature in the developer settings and then try to take a screenshot on maybe the home screen, and there they'll see that the resolution is 3840x1644, which is exactly the native 4K 21:9 resolution of this phone's display.
TechNick from YouTube even confirmed this on his review of this phone, so it is definitely suspicious that someone as reputable as GSMArena wouldn't know it right from the beginning.

Well this is Sony anyway, so the hate is definitely expected.
People wouldn't react in the same way if this was Samsung or Apple for sure.

That&#... moreWell, the OG Xperia 1 and OG Xperia 5 have been updated to Android 11, from its original OS, Android 9.0 Pie, which's two major updates to those phones, so 1 & 5 Mark III will have the same thing, and 1 & 5 Mark II will receive its second major update this year as well (to Android 12, originally Android 10 for both)

Users in China were all aware of it since May.
Any simple app like AIDA64 or Device Info HW can show the 4 modes 1096p@60/120 and 1644p@60/120.
