Sony clarifies: the Xperia 1 III will get at least two Android updates

The phone is coming next month with Android 11 out of the box.

Yeah, "expected" and "at least". That's not good enough. They should say "will" or "going to" to assert the promise.

    That’s still horrible for a device that costs like what, 1200$?

      2 Years not Good enough in 2021 or even in 2020

        Nice to know that 1199 phone is getting 2 major updates. Meanwhile samsungs £150 a range gets the same... Bit embarrassing tbh

            should be 3 updates considering a $1300 phones. but i am curious what sony fans think lol. even LG give 3 OS updates.

              They've had 2 OS updates for a while, that article that was posted a while back should've been confirmed before it was posted. Sony articles do generate the most discussion and clicks, so it makes sense why they post as much as they can.

              Sony haters use it as fuel and Sony fans come in to defend. A huge discussion that always happens.

                This is good even if I'm not a fan of Sony. Competition will bring only the best futures for the right buck.
