Android Fanboy 4.2, 30 Oct 2012Wow! That is google,All the hype of major release of boring... moreDon't just try to blabber some shit. Nokia and its Lumia series have a helluva innovation running them. When Google rips your complete information and seels it across, you'll be cursing and sighing at your blinded support for Google and Android.

It's a minor update? Then rest assured most will never get this version officially from their manufacturers.

That is just how they roll, if it was a larger update they could have just said "it's too much work", now they will just say "it's a minor update, it doesn't matter".

Welcome to the world of crappy Android manufacturers.

Multiple user account is really awesome. One tablet for the whole family: mom and dad can check their mails, children can play games and use facebook and nobody has to fear a mixture of data.

That's IT? Seriously? And Android users were laughing at iOS 6? This is a joke of an update, and most of these so called new features were already available on Android previously, just not officially by Android itself. Wow hahahaah major stagnation from Android camp.

                              https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.switchme

Works perfectly and free as well, been using it for months.

Android is a great OS,.... I think google has a good vision for both the developed world and the developing world... Its googles model that works other than that of Apple or MS. They better postion themselves well here in Africa (Uganda) and Asia; MS & Apple can never compete with google's bussiness model in developing nations... Their "free".. cannot be matched with anyone else....Remember, who cares about privacy for example in my home country Uganda???

Saad Thahim, 29 Oct 2012it took 4 months for JB 4.1 to reach samsung, how long will... moreYou are lucky that you got the update after 4 months....We in Middle East still not recieved the OTA update. I tried both on MAC and Windows using Kies to push the update on my S3 manually but it failed on both counts....We will be lucky if we recieve the 4.1 update by end of the year. For the 4.2 update probably by the end of next year. Samsung produces excellent products but their support and after sales support in Middle East is one of the worse compare to other brands...I believe Samsung is not yet ready to become a global Electronic giant....The lack of misinformation and bad communications with their suppliers and consumers shows that they are not yet ready to become number 1.

Android is no longer a mobile PHONE o.s, it has moved aal together to mobile DEVICE O.s. Completely capable in itself. You can no longer compare it to other mobile o.s which still require once in a day connection to your p.c.

If you have a big screen android, you can do just about anything with it. Now, with multi user support, it's only going to get better for families that share the "tablets".

Only problem is, can the partner companies(Samsung,HTC,LG etc.) provide the updates as fast as Google come up with it? Clearly Samsung's swype has won Google.

Personally, I can no longer do without android device. Download torrents and view media files right from your device, (MXPLAYER)...and what not! PS3 controller+madfinger(shadow gun, dead trigger)
But since the kind of things it is capable to do and the battery technology, I had to buy a windows phone...you know for telephony! For everything else, there is Galaxy Note.
