There's someone saying Xiaomi should focus on getting 5-6 days of heavy usage out of 5000mAh batteries. I don't think this people know anything about energy at all. Unless you get a tiny screen, underclocked processor and mean heavy usage as many hours of light loads usage and not playing all kinds of games, how are you expecting this to happen? Maybe yes, if you put a battery that runs at a nominal 15.2V instead of the normal 3.8V. That's the only way a 5000mAh battery would last 5-6 days... I wouldn't be surprised if this comment was made by a 13 year old indian, they're always the great minds behind this great ideas

Android-Authority, 24 Jul 2021That was one isolated case where Samsung messed up. And ... moreThose unfortunate Samsung Note models simply had faulty cells. Nothing else.

And fast charging wasn't responsible for that fiasco, so you are still failing to provide any legit reason to avoid ultra fast charging.

YUKI93, 23 Jul 2021Exactly. Most people, especially mobile gamers, love to use... moreGaming when charging, even on 10W, is less than ideal. Gaming whilst charging for over an hour, even on 10-18W is far from ideal.

With fast charging, the gamer could recharge his/her phone whilst taking a toilet break or eating.

1 cell @ 4000 mAh capacity charging at 50W for a long time is not excatly much better than 4 cells @ 1000 mAh capacity each charging at 50W each for 1/4 the charging time.

Btw, the top speed a phone CAN charge isn't the only speed. Even if the device supports 200W charging, doesn't mean one must charge it at 200W. It's an option for those who prefer fast charging, like me.

kiasunkiasi, 23 Jul 2021majority of mobile phone users can live without those crazy... moreExactly. Most people, especially mobile gamers, love to use the phone while charging. So the last thing they want is a super hot battery because of the super fast charging.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 20218-minute fire starter? That's my main concern here ... moreNone of these products are rolled out in the market without extensive testing.
You fast charging fear mongering people need to take a hike

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2021Are you suggesting no one wants their phone to be recharged... moremajority of mobile phone users can live without those crazy high W charging speed which degrade batteries faster

Very happy with 33Watt or even 66W chargers. Wish they can spend more research into battery technology.

That's my main concern here but if they figure that potential problem out it sounds great!

I am happy with 5w charger

Do we really need chargers to be this fast though. They will degrade the battery quicker. We need to upgrade the battery tech so it can maintain charge for longer and so it doesn't degrade quicker as most phone batteries will last 2 years before degrading.
