I couldn't care less about it. I own it because of what it is and what benefits it offers to my use cases or preferences. If Samsung offered them, then I'd be using a Samsung. I have seen a lot graphics of monthly sales in many markets and still I see 64GB iphones among top sellers. Pro/Pro Max 128 sells more than 256GB.
My phone : apps + system = 14GB used
Tablet = apps + system = 20GB used
Laptop = windows + everything = 50 GB used
What would I do with 128/256/512 GB on the phone?
I also never leave apps open. Having more than 4GB RAM to my needs is waste of money.
6GB can easily keeps over 100 apps open, unless phone has poorly made UI.
What would I do with 8/12/16GB?

Normal people shouldn't need to know what is inside their phone, they only care how it works for them. It's like buying a car, most don't care what is inside the car, they just care it takes you from place a to place b.
Some teens might buy iPhone as status symbol, most people buy it because it's so enjoyable to use.

So why did HomePod wasn't huge hit? Why Apple TV isn't? Because end of they day people only buy products they need or see value in their life. IPhone sells because it's such a great product.

128GB should be the minimum. You have to build that into the iPhone SE and Mini.
All the other iPhones need 256GB and the PRO models even 512GB or 1TB.

It is indeed better to build in 512GB or 1TB on the PRO models.
The classic iPhone 256GB or 512GB and in the Mini or future iPhone SE the minimum of 128GB.

it would be a smart move to have on all models. the time has come to give people what they want, smaller sizes with high end specs. after all, not everyone has large sized hands. I have been saying that for years, 5 years ago I even messaged and emailed Samsung to do this move, as I was thinking and listening to my wife and her friends always complain about holding the top end full sized phones. Good to see apple get it finally, and I do hope LiDar on all if this report is true.
