[deleted post]Simple science, simple science.
triple the wattage should equal to triple the battery degration. Its simple maths, just simple maths.
Even if xiaomi and realme's battery technology is 2x better than everybody else, it still has 1.5x more degradation than 30W charging.
That aproximates to 2x the battery degradation compared to apple's 15W charging. And I'm underestimating here: I've also assumed that 30W charging only causes 1.3x more degradation compared to 15W charging.
Nothing is escaping pure hard facts.

Strawhat, 26 Jul 2021"Every time that apple increases the wattage, battery ... moreUhhhhh..... Where is the source that cpus will get faster every year?
Its an obvious fact lol.

source?
yeah my point is if you care about your battery just use a slower charger like 5w or 10w
I prefer 30-65w charger, not everyone will wait their battery to full charge in 1 -2 hours

Strawhat, 26 Jul 2021yeah by the way rumor says, apple will introduce 25w that c... moreEvery time that apple increases the wattage, battery technology will improve.
Right now, 30W is the absolute maximum for charging, anything else will just start to degrade your battery faster. There is no refuting cold hard facts.
Companies can't just pull out a magic wand and make their 100W charging somehow less battery taxing than a 10W charger. Maybe in 7-10 years, but certainly not 1.

I find this kind of amusing. The fact, its nearly 4 years since i moved away from the Apple Ecosystem, they finally come out with 25W fast charging.
And its still slightly slower than my Oneplus 7 Pro Warp 30 and way slower than my Find X3 Pro SuperVooc 65W charging.

Strawhat, 26 Jul 2021yeah by the way rumor says, apple will introduce 25w that c... moreI left the iOS ecosystem for the this exact reason.
I got tired of waiting one more year for a minor upgrade while on the other hand, even budget Android users were enjoying features not available on top of the line iPhones.

AnonD-1003038, 24 Jul 2021And why would I change it when it still holds nearly 2 days... moreyeah by the way rumor says, apple will introduce 25w that charge faster than 20w, next year they will invent 30w. so the people every year must buy a charger.
you will get 65w charger in apple by 2025. and by 2025 the android maker will get +100w charger. and you will say same again
+100w charger will make a battery degrade fast bla bla, unlike slower 65w of my iphone
flawed logic lol
just tell me in recent years what is apple innovation?

Specs do matter of course. It is just that a lot of iPhone users either do not understand or care about the specs of their device so they be just like "iPhone is the best. IDK how or why but yeah it just is, because IDK. Apple"

Anonymous, 25 Jul 2021This, majority of people have no clue what those numbers do... moreMissed the point entirely. People care about specs. They may not care about technical details, but they understand that new phones have better specs than old phones. If they want a phone that runs fast, charges fast, lasts long, takes good pictures, etc, it means that they care about specs.

Anonymous, 25 Jul 2021This, majority of people have no clue what those numbers do... moreYou just can't assume what people want their phones for. I game on my phones all the time so I know that a phone such as any iPhone would have bad battery life as it is already less to begin with

Techies are just an overrepresented minority because they spend a lot of time reading news about latest hardware. In reality, most people need a phone for messaging, amateur photography and maybe watching Youtube videos and that's it.

My 2 years old Mi 9T Pro supports faster charging (27W) and that was a 450€ device.

AnonD-1003038, 25 Jul 2021You're out of touch if you seriously believe people ha... moreThis means that they care about the specs. They buy new models because they know that they have better specs than old models. Why do people pay more money to buy new models when they can pay less money to buy old models if they don't care about specs? And if people stop buying new models, phone manufacturers will be forced to stop releasing new models every year because it won't be profitable to do so, but this isn't the reality. People care about specs and that pushes the phone manufacturers to release new models with better specs every year.

Meanwhile other brands introduced 30W wired-charging years ago. Apple is "innovating" late as usual.

Anonym, 25 Jul 2021The whole world is changing. Steve Jobs said what he though... moreIt depends. If you want to completely dominate the phone with one hand and your thumb then a 3.5 - 4.5 inch screen with flat edges is the best option.
