Android--Master, 25 Jul 2021256gb as base variant is standard on many flagships in year 2021 Yes. It should be standard on One Plus and Samsung FE series or those phones who don't have expansion slot. Midrangers should have 128GB standard and should have hybrid card slot.

And most probably snapdragon 768G/778G.Without this, Redmi won't pull off this time. Motorola will kill them with snapdragon 778G device. Realme is good with updates,not good with hardware and price to performance ratio. Stuck on snapdragon 720G still on Pro series.

Android--Master, 25 Jul 2021256gb as base variant is standard on many flagships in year 2021 True, I use a 256GB P40, but for some users the ability to expand storage with standardized memory is critical; not only for removable backups/data in case of emergency/damage but it enables a user to carry an effectively infinite amount of data. 20 microSD cards easily fit in a pouch necklace or coin-purse.

There is also critical utility for the 3.5mm aux input for dealing with professional, studio quality audio applications.
It's a case of manufacturers intentionally failing to deliver holistic technology in favor of mass production for plebians.

I only stop using expandable storage when my new phone got bumped up to 128g, which im quite contented. But i have mixed feelings removing the 3.5 mm jack, I have 3 different bluetooth earphone, sometimes you have those days that you forget to charge all of them, and i just pick up any of my 100's of old earphones i have lying around...options.

In China though the last 3 Redmi note pro versions had headphone Jack's and SD card support. This is the first Redmi note Pro variant without, so it could signal the end of these two features for future Redmi devices (or Poco rebrands). Personally I like these two features so will be disappointed to see them go. Also it could signal the end of these features for other midrangers from competing brands too as many of these midrangers are designed by companies like Huaqin, Wingtech and Longcheer. Xiaomi outsources the design of the Redmi note series and competitors like Oppo are also outsourcing midrange designs to these ODMs so they are likely to follow the same trends

Aside from headphone jack, it sounds really good. But they should really put displays with higher peak brightnesses, 450nits is not good for those sunny days.
