But Honor start to use Isocell sensor, which they definitely need to do some work on a different sensor. From Honor 50 samples I saw, they do resembles Huawei's image processing, but not so much into details rendition. Definitely some work to be done.

The combination of always-on super res stacking and in-house BM3D NR has been the secret recipe of Huawei's smartphone cameras for nearly 2 years, and now with them slowly fading away, I'd love to see other companies carrying it along.

Huawei + Leica advantage are more mature image processing (Less sharpening, more natural rendition, Super Res algorithm, BM3D noise reduction) & better lens quality. Color science a bit behind because of RYYB, but P50 series will improve color accuracy & crazy fast AF based on their teasers. Low lights? Even previous P40 & Mate 40 better than Mi11U, without the needs of Night Mode.

If that rear camera island would be the finalized design for the production model, I now begin to question the legality of the rumoured 1" sensor. Even the 1" sensor from the Sharp Aquos R6 took up quite a lot of space from the back panel. 1" sensor in that circle with another sensor, possibly a 3D ToF sensor from my point of view, besides it? I'm not so sure then.

In my opinion, im saying that the phone looks ugly. Do i need your permission to say that? And FYi im not saying that because i hate huawei. In fact, ive used quite a few huawei (and honor) phones back from the ascend mate to the newer ones P40 pro and Mate 40 Pro. I would even dare to say that the photos and videos i took with the P40Pro is better than the Mi11 ultra.
However, this is the first time in a few years that i am not excited about a huawei flagship. First time i saw the leaks i just thought what an ugly camera layout. I dont care how they arrange it inside, i dont even care if it has a sizeable bump, but that exterior back panel is just surprisingly WTF.

I agree the bump is ugly.
But making phone thicker to hide bump would make phones way heavier.
Also, extra materials used which would increase price.

Zeiss has deal with 3 OEMs.
