Rumor suggests the Galaxy S IV will use Exynos 5450 chipset

30 October, 2012
The chipset is similar to that of the Nexus 10 tablet, but with four A15 cores and a faster GPU.

Samsung has a pretty solid repuation, LG could be number one in the cell phone relm if they only put out the support with there phones, unforunatly they suffer from this in the tv department as well, I have to concurr with many others in that cell phones have come to the point were they need to become effiecent in terms of battery usegae now. My old Sony W800 would last sometimes more then a week with heavy useage. On LTE barely 8-12 hours we can only hope that they pull it together for the next phone and step up to the motorola plate, and produce a phone that can last 3-4 days with heavy usage. To the person who said apple maps look better then goggle maps..i would have to severly disagree with you i was sitting side by side with apple phones since the ios6 came out and i must say there have been improvements but it terms of turn by turn navi, the quality of the maps and the amount of updates that google has released is still like compareing a Cobalt to a cadaliac, its not even in the same league yet. Apple just lost a serious player in the head office game, you don't think goggle will snag him and have project butter smother then ever in future OS of andriod, jelly bean is already a very polished OS as it is. Andriod is still a fairly new department of goggle 2-3 years of sales and devlopment and andriod will be more intergrated then ever before.

I suppose Google will play the good sport, sit on their laurels, and wait for Apple Maps to catch up reach the same standards as Google Maps while it just sits back and smokes some weed so that it can have some decent competition later.

[deleted post]hey genious. Look up the term "plastic" on the internet. tehre are SEVERAL grades of plastic.l Polycarbonate is the one of th most stiff and tough plastics commercially available. Thats my nokia has to machine the body using a milling maching where as samsung pours their plastic into a die to get the shape. Samsung uses the lowest grade of plastic available.
dont open your mouth unless you know wat you're talking about. I'm a materials engineer... i know more about plastics than you know phones period.

btw. jokes on you cause you think you ACTAULLY know something about polycarbonate.. dont try using fancy words that you dont have a clue of what they are of what they mean.

Remember this is getting released in March, less than 12 months from the S3's release.

I'm not too fussed about specs as I just want DC-HSPA+/LTE.

Awesome..so..this SoC is what, 10-12 MONTHS away from actually being a retail product?

Yawn. More hype for the hype machine.

I still love my Galaxy S2, and it's an obsolete 2-year old POS by most people's standards. But you know what? It surfs the web, it allows me tethered internet access, it reads my email and most important- it MAKES PHONE CALLS.

Hey, anyone remember when we cared about products you could buy today, and not 2 product cycles down the road? I didn't think so..

                                    Now This is called innovation!
                                    Galaxy S innovation

                                    Galaxy S III innnnnnnnovation
                                    Galaxy S IV innnnnnnnnnnnovation
See what I did there? Add more 'n'in Innovation the same way Samsung adds more cores and calls it innovation.Pathetic! I doubt anyone uses a phone for serious gaming. because mobile phone is mostly used when you are out of your home eg. office/college, shopping, travelling, etc.there if you are gaming then battery dies at the time you need the phone for using as a phone. who needs gaming specs for those places? and for those who are gaming with their phones in their homes, I pity you. go out and get an XBox or something because phone gaming just su.cks. Also for benchmark nerds please do tell me what do those benchmark scores signify in real life performance? Maybe a 100 milliseconds lag in opening a webpage. So If I view about 15-20 webpages on my phone every day, I save a total of 2 seconds! OMG!! now I have time for other stuff like calculating benchmark scores! All my problems are solved. Samsung please try innovating for a change.

As much as I like Sammy, they like to milk their SoCs. The SGSIV will probably implement an OC'ed Exynos 5350, end of dtory. Exynos 5 quad chipsets are meant for the end of 2013 - beginning of 2014.
