vrvly, 29 Jul 2021Manual mode in Xperia is as handy as it is in full size cam... moreSure, it's all nice theory (Sony marketing) and at the same time Sony's acknowledgment than they can't offer you a high quality output straight outta $1300 smartphone camera. You should spend your precious time mocking over manual settings and in photo editors to achieve something that others can do in full auto. And this false sense of achievement, so called "pro photographer experience" gives you feeling that Xperia photo quality is great! :)

vrvly, 29 Jul 2021From what I know, difference is sony got raw in all fov... moreI dont know about others, but Huawei got RAW dng support on all sensor since P9, a 2016 phone. Pixel has it as well, even better, a computational RAW (with stacking included).
Xperia RAW support just start in 2019.

VectorR, 29 Jul 2021Unfortunately manual (PhotoPro app) mode doesn't help ... moreManual mode in Xperia is as handy as it is in full size camera, those not using them have no idea what it's good for, like further image improvement of HDR or detail compared to stock output, full control over what you want to shoot and how or just having raw one for the purpose of originality so your image even if stolen, can still be identified as yours.

You just have to believe that it will make your photos look much better (after wasting time in Lightroom :)). Perhaps, that's why Sony's slogan is "Make. Believe." :)

Good luck to Huawei to sell any phones without Google in any reasonable numbers. Unfortunately 9 out of 10 Android smartphone users need Google services even if someone is denying it . That's just sad reality. R.I.P. Huawei.

Do you see those halo rings on the edge of most of the object at Xperia 1iii sample? Those are called 'oversharpened'. Even the old Lumia 950XL are better, and you said it match the 808 PV? 🤮
