Android has flagship, midrange, low end. Different chipset used, different camera module, different on other hardware. Theres a lot of work to be done compared to iPhone.

It's not about price, it's about company's mentality. And all Android phone makers have mentality "buy new phone to get latest OS and updates after 2-3 years". You can buy most expensive folding Android phone with magic pixies for over 1600€ and it'll generally have same crappy long term support as one for 300€.
