Anonymous, 05 Aug 2021Thats really really minority of the population who buy Xiao... moreMost of the people I know flashed custom roms on Xiaomi devices with snapdragon chipsets and those are running quiet fine over the years. I don't know what happened to One Plus. They should have used mid range chipsets from Qualcomm and would have launched in midrange segment with proper software between 250USD and 400USD. They would have killed Xiaomi/Motorola/Realme with this, but no. They wanted to ruin themselves. They are selling snapdragon 480 powered 5G devices in this range.

Most people are at a security risk because of weak passwords or they are d^mb enough to click on a phising link. Even the latest security updates won't save such users

How do you think would Android 5 or 6 run? Lagging?
Nope. These are OSes not hardware that "age" with time. The concern is more about security of these devices since many of the serious vulnerabilities will be present in these OSes.
Apart from missing out on new features, of course.

Software support is ... moreThats really really minority of the population who buy Xiaomi and flash a new OS on it. Most who buy Xiaomi will buy it cause it's cheap and have great hardware for the money while there phones have already made a reputation that they are also quality builds. Most of the customers dont even care about the skin on the android.

This ads problem people see is more of a China market only maybe. I have global version of redmi note 5 ai dual cam and i have not seen any ads anywhere. And more and more it seems the one of the top 3 things trolls are complaining about

They all run flawlessly even though they are stuck on Android 5.0 or 6.0

I suppose that in addition to the good job done by Xiaomi people, they should also thank the US for Huawei's ban.

nickname optional, 05 Aug 2021This means, that with more revenue, they can finally afford... moreMIUI 13 will decide where Xiaomi goes. Software support is frankly abysmal from Xiaomi. Bugs after bugs. It's value for money devices keeping them afloat. They are being purchased for custom roms with great price to hardware they are offering. Look at Redmi Note 10 Pro and Poco F3(apart from camera everything is great the price). People can buy this and flash custom roms since buying this device for a peeny of flagship price and will still get same experience.

[deleted post]Poco X3 GT didnt launch in India. It will never as per Poco India head.

Other than that, they have nailed every segment. I hope they need to launch Redmi Note series with snapdragon chipset with 5G capabilities soon under 300USD and also 256GB version.

When you can disabled it on setting, there's not a problem since they sold their device (entry to midrange) with lower price than competitors

This means, that with more revenue, they can finally afford to support their devices longer & better?
It's the only part where Xiaomi is far behind the competition. Only Motorola is worse...
