Anonymous, 11 Aug 2021Don't get upset. You have to admit it, it is a copycat... moreAll regular laptops (of course excluding 2-in-1s) with full metal unibody design look very similar to each other. This isn't even a phone, it's a laptop - it exists to get your work done on a larger canvas when you don't find a tablet or a phone large enough, not to show off to other people how cool it looks. Having an original design is absolutely nowhere near as important as better portability, durability or practical features.. it has always been at the bottom of the priority list and will stay that way in future too.

Its seems it will have USB C charging! Nice work Realme. You are for Real.

Yep, if a company makes a metal-clad laptop with squared off corners, it's instantly a MacBook ripoff. Case closed ladies and gentlemen, I don't care about oppositions and if you disagree with me you suck.

..Jokes aside, I really hope people just shut up for a single second and stop calling all laptops with an aluminium unibody design "mAc CoPyCaT". Windows users deserve better built Windows laptops which are exactly what some recent laptop makers are trying to create. And before I forget to say this, I'm a MBP user myself.

Shanti Dope, 10 Aug 2021Just because there isn't any patent that prevents them... moreWell, the MacBook may have nice specs, but I don't think most Windows users are gonna switch to MacOS because these are two completely different OS's. I know some people who switched (also the other way around), but most Windows users love Windows and really don't want to switch because they just can't work with the different OS, or it is really impractical with their study etc. The M1 is certainly something we can look upto though!

Which is what Realme is doing for several things now and probably more coming. It's lazy and it's lame.

[deleted post]Just because there isn't any patent that prevents them from copying Apple doesn't necessarily mean they would simply use the same engineering design and call it a day. There are literally thousands of engineers working everyday to come up with new laptop designs, and I believe there are maybe even hundreds of possible ways to do it.
Don't tell me that those engineers worked hard at being creative in schools only to graduate and work in a company by copying another company's design.

Also, this isn't something wherein this laptop will be half the price of the MacBook. The MacBook Air M1 base model is literally dropping prices pretty quickly now, and is offering significantly better performance overall due to optimizations, along with better battery life and other peripherals like speakers, trackpad (I doubt there's anyone that could beat them at this), Thunderbolt USB-C ports, display quality, fan noise (it's literally FANLESS!), or even down to the speed of SSDs used.
There's a reason why many life-long Windows laptop users are happily switching to M1 MacBooks and are mostly satisfied with their decision.
This laptop needs to be priced no more than $500 bucks, but given the specs, I highly doubt it.
