Absolutely. And does that very well. Performance and built quality are top notch for the price I paid.

SShreyas, 13 Oct 2021Unbelievably slow?
Dude, processors aren't something ... moreMaybe, I was unable to express myself. I meant that as more and more powerful generations of CPUs get released each year, after a decade the the bar for minimum CPU requirement to run a moderately heavy software may far exceed to what is currently embedded in current mid-tier laptops.
I own a Dell Latitude E6430 dating back to 2012. Running on Intel Core i5-3230M, the thing used to be nifty and fast when launched. On the way I upgraded the RAM to 8GB, put SSD and still the laptop is slow on Win 7 (x64). Further upgrading does not make sense as obsolete DDR3 is very expensive and Dell does not makes batteries anymore. Running any heavy duty software will cause the CPU to work at 100% for a very long duration, overheat and finally laptop hangs. In short I find the CPU unable to handle the load of any modern moderately heavy software.
And the laptop is so chunky & heavy, my back breaks to carry for long distances. However it was a trusty good laptop and stood the test of time.

Dude, processors aren't something which will slow down with ageing. And even if they, it'll just be something that not even a professional user would be able to notice.
Try running a CPU centric benchmarking platform on your phone or laptop and compare the numerical scores with that of some review (plenty of them are here on GSMArena and YouTube).

I for once cannot think of stretching a laptop for a decade. I believe the processor and Graphics will be unbelievably slow no matter what Ram you pump in. And I want a responsive and fast laptop and this is an excellent choice my needs.

RishiGuru, 12 Oct 2021Recently bought the Realme Book (Slim) From Flipkart. Grant... moreI don't invest in "use-and-throw" category of products. I used OnePlus One for 7 years straight and even now, it's my secondary phone.
Similarly, I would expect my laptop to be upgradable to last me no less than a decade (as is my requirements with a phone). And 8 GB RAM is not sufficient for even next 5 years, forget a decade, no matter how cheap it is.
And I don't need it to wake up under a second or 2K display. These aren't even my requirements. If a brand offers them along with minimum of 32 GB RAM expansion and an empty 2.5''/NVME slot, it'd be better. But without my primary requirements being fulfilled, I won't even consider it an option.
P.S: Faster RAM speed or dual channel 8GB RAM cannot be equivalent to 12 RAM in any case

SShreyas, 11 Aug 2021The thickness suggest me that it will not be an upgradable ... moreRecently bought the Realme Book (Slim) From Flipkart. Granted this laptop is an Apple MacBook impersonator, but then I found how well the implementation was made and how close it went to a MacBook for its asking price. Renowned Youtuber Dave2d's review was an eye opener for me.
Realme launched Intel Core i3 (8GB) & Core i5 (8GB) variants for ₹45K ($600, €520) & ₹57K ($760, €660) respectively in India. However during festive season this month, Realme's online retail partner Flipkart was selling the Core i5 variant for the price of Core i3 after various flat discounts, bank cashback's & instant card discounts and all!
I was able to grab a Realme Book Slim (Core i5, Real Grey) variant for ₹45.3K ($601, €520) without any exchange. For that price it is a steal deal. My jaw droped looking at the specs for this $600 device:
1) Premium all metal build just like Apple MacBook.
2) Awesome 14 inch, 2K Display supporting 100% sRGB color gamut. 400 nits peak brightness for a laptop is outstanding.
3) Intel Core i5-1135G7 (11th Gen)
4) Intel Iris XE Graphics
5) 8GB LPDDR4x @ 4266MHz Dual channel RAM. This is very high speed RAM @ 4266MHz, equivalent to 12 GB variants of its competitors. Pity it is soldered to motherboard and non-up-gradable.
6) 512GB Samsung Gen3 SSD with one of the highest read and write speeds in its category. i5 variant have 2 times write speed of i3 variant. User up-gradable slot with PCIe Gen3/Gen4 support.
7) Thunderbolt 4 port, USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, USB-A 3.2 Gen 2
8) 3.5mm Headphone Jack (A rarity)
9) WI-FI 6 & Bluetooth 5.2
10) 6952mAh (54.1Wh) 4-cell Lithium Polymer battery. I would have liked an even bigger battery.
11) 65 watt fast charger which is as small as a phone charger with support for most advanced PPS (Programmable Power Supply) charging tech. Support for USB Power Delivery, VOOC is also present.
12) 3-level Backlit Keyboard, identical to MacBook
13) Huge trackpad
14) Two HARMAN Speakers with DTS, decently loud
15) Clean Windows 10 Home with ZERO bloatware. Free upgrade to Windows 11 when available.
16) Microsoft Office 2019 Home & Student pre-installed
Even more impressive is the Realme Book (Core i5) variant have recently received the Intel Evo certification. Which means sleep to wake time is under a second with the Fingerprint Power Button. Awesome, as I cannot think of a better laptop for the price I paid, in India!

Beastmachine, 11 Aug 2021Hey bud why not have a look at Framework's device!?That's the most amazing laptop to own and perfectly suit my needs.
But as of now, it's not available in my country and import duties are way too high here. It will be very expensive for what it will offer me.

I'll pass this. I needed a light one, since I can't carry my 2.2 kg laptop and it's 1 kg cooling pad everywhere. I think I have to go for Zenbook or something like that.
