L.O.R.D, 11 Aug 2021I assume that tiny space between the two screens is still p... moreYes, it'll have a crease in the middle of the inner display and it was the first thing I noticed when I saw someone using a Fold 2. It does make the device look less than premium.

    16MP/10MP selfie cameras
    12MP main camera
4,400mAh at 25W (without a charger in the box)
all these for $1,800 USD in 2021??

    no further comments!!!!!!

Why do they need a punch hole in back screen??It's like if Xiaomi mi 11 ultra had a punch hole in it's back screen!

I assume that tiny space between the two screens is still present in both the foldable phones when in folded position. It somewhat ruins the premium feel of the device

It does look like an interesting phablet, hope to see how the under display selfie cam works. Only problem is the rear camera setup that’s all…

One thing that got me wondering about the S Pen support is where to put it. At least for the S21 Ultra, there is a slot in the middle of the case for the S Pen. Nevertheless, I don't see the Z Fold3 as a major improvement over the Z Fold2. Sure that the Z Fold3 now has IPX8 rating and S Pen support, but it still looks the same as the Z Fold2.

"particularly the 12MP f/2.4 telephoto snapper with tiny 1.0µm pixels and only 2x zoom feel outright outdated"
Pixel size is no issue. The smaller the pixel size, the higher the angular resolution, if the lens is the same. What you are possibly talking about is the effective diameter of the lens. For a given resolution (12 megapixels), a small pixel size means that the sensor is small. A small sensor means that for a given field of view the focal length is relatively small. And for a given f-number, a small focal length means that the effective diameter of the lens is small. A small effective diameter captures less light per time from an object. A small focal length also has the disadvantage of capturing noisier base Iso raw data from an object.

"only 2x zoom" , don't confuse prime lenses with zoom lenses. Smartphones usually don't have zoom lenses, they usually have tele prime lenses. But, yes, it's a disadvantage, if you want a high angular resolution.
Though, it's actually an advantage, if you want a 50mm field of view.

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2021camera is bullshityeah especially on a phone that costs 1,800 euros .
Rather disappointingly, the Z Fold3 has virtually the same camera setup has identical hardware with the outgoing model. And while the 12MP main unit with f/1.8 lens and 1/1.76" sensor size (1.8µm pixels) are not bad, the 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide unit with 1.12µm pixels and particularly the 12MP f/2.4 telephoto snapper with tiny 1.0µm pixels and only 2x zoom feel outright outdated. For reference the Galaxy Note9 had a 12MP F/2.4 with the same pixel size and it came out in 2018.

Mat, 11 Aug 2021Camera island looks greatYes, exactly what 21/21+ should have had.

z fold and flip are just too thick.
folded screen will be more successful if released as casing for galaxy s series.

Kudos to Samsung for figuring how to make it water resistant. It certainly looks great but it's still too expensive for almost anybody.

This will lead other phone manufacturers. Never had any issue with Samsung hardware except their timely software updates.
