Hbk112, 20 Aug 2021Interesting how some companies sell phones cheaper in India... moreIt just shows that some companies are serious about India and others are not.

Companies which are serious like OnePlus, Xiaomi etc locally assemble their products and even make India specific variants after studying Indian market.

Companies like Apple and Google do not care about their sales in India nor do they care about the Indian customers who has bought their products. They care more about their local market which is US and other Western and high income countries. Because they’re greedy.

aaa, 20 Aug 2021I don't understand why Google doesn't release the... moreBecause it costs to make a product and distribute it?

Chinese phones are cheaper because India is closer to China and probably have better connections when it comes to the distribution channels. Chinese phones often have poor os support and it's a lottery if they decide to give the os update or security patches to your phone. Then their phones have so many invisible cuts that you notice after using the phone after some time (I learnt my lesson).

Yo. That's an easy pass. Google sells just the a series in India at 30K. (the 5a isn't released BTW) and I'm expected to buy a pair of earphones for 1/3rd of my phone's price? I'll stick with Galaxy Buds. Thanks.

[deleted post]Both the Indian curreny (INR) and US Dollar ($) are mentioned in the article, so I don't get if that was a cheap shot, but I hope you grow up and get a better perspective in life..

Hbk112, 20 Aug 2021Interesting how some companies sell phones cheaper in India... moreIts all about the no. of units. Those that sell cheapers sell more no. of units, whereas Apple, Google sell less no. of units here. However, if they lowered their prices here they would be able to sell a lot more units, but I guess they go in thinking they aren't gonna sell much, so price it high anyway..

At that price it's a hard pass.

Hbk112, 20 Aug 2021Interesting how some companies sell phones cheaper in India... moreGoogle and Apple always price their stuff much higher in India. Not just phones
Samsung prices their phones almost equal to of other regions, especially the flagships, while OnePlus, Motorola and most other companies price a bit lower than global prices

Perhaps Google and Apple do this to make up for their low market share in this region. I recently bought a pair of OnePlus buds. Sounds great. With so many better options I doubt if Google will move even 10 units of their buds
