Actually... there is awefully false info as the phone really has no SD card slot !!! and when you say most of the hardware functioning ... does this mean that there are some features which stopped working ??

seriously... an update is supposed to give better performance or more features... not less !!!!!!

Either they provide the files needed or if not then they should close that damn project! I'm pissed when reading about some "libraries" etc. they can't provide us with.

sony's ui looks good with the stock ics and jellybean theme... sony's phones looks good with the blue color scheme so why not mix jellybean or ics theme in it.. not to replace the current ui but to be mixed together to make it look super cool.

            I don't see any improvement.
The only thing i see is a new design.
It's still the same only it looks a bit different.

Does this mean I should delay in getting the Xperia S? I'm trying to decide between the S and the new T.

GSMArena, you mean both the mass storage and system reserved memories when you say that "for the Sony Xperia S with most of the hardware functioning properly, including the SD card"??

I'm a bit confused here. In my understandings, AOSP is the original version that Android team made for the first time.
And the smartphone manufacturer use it and develop it into their own, changing the features (usually add features), and the UI.
Why they create an 'AOSP Project'?
                                  But I think I'm wrong...

WHY oh why did AOSP team waste their time on this outdated and unpopular phone??? It was DOA anyway, they should've focused on GS2, Galaxy Note, GS3, Galaxy Note2, One X+, One X, and One S, all those have great hardware, a great mod community and are far more future proof than this Xperia S.
