LoL, 26 Aug 2021Hehe, you are wrong. The main reason is Oppo and Vivo have ... moreI do agree with you that Oppo and Vivo (OV) is much pricier than Xiaomi but it's due to the difference in terms of marketing strategy where all of us know that OV focuses on offline rather than the online market while Xiaomi does the opposite. Offline marketing is not as simple as online, which involves a lot of parties and costs. Thus, in my case, I wouldn't mind spending more to get ready stock from nearby Oppo stores. Oppositely, Xiaomi stores are hard to find, most of them are located far from my home and sometimes the model I wanted to buy is out of stock, and this happened several times, affecting my purchasing experience.

However, I disagree with you about the software aspects. Personally, I have both Oppo and Xiaomi, both are similarly priced at nearly USD270. In terms of specs, Xiaomi wins a lot but software-wise, I have a better UX from Oppo rather than Xiaomi. The ColorOS is smoother, lighter and well optimized. I have yet to face any bugs or issues with it. The MIUI is the opposite of it, bugs are occurring nearly every day (though it's minor bugs) and there are ads in literally every system apps, which is very annoying.

All of this is based on my personal UX, it doesn't reflect others UX so don't get triggered. Just go and buy the brand you prefer, cheers.

LoL, 26 Aug 2021Hehe, you are wrong. The main reason is Oppo and Vivo have ... moreI agree. Oppo and vivo have strong marketing. And in fact every phone service center I se it has a board written oppo or vivo. And thier the biggest bran din my country. Otherwise Samsung or apple get the rest of market share.

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2021Seems like Chinese know that Xiaomi phones are filled with ... moreHehe, you are wrong. The main reason is Oppo and Vivo have bigger profit margins and dealerships receive attractive incentives (units target etc) to push sales. If you think Oppo and Vivo phones have less bugs, bloatware and spyware than Xiaomi is the reason for huge market share, you better think again.
BBK is especially good in covering up complaints before getting gaining too much attention, the recent Oneplus Nord 2 explosion is the best example. They have the financial power to do so, being one of the earliest and biggest phone makers in China. We tend to forget Xiaomi is only 11 years old and is considered as youngling in China.

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2021Then what about HUAWEI. It was no.1 in China. And its pronu... moreVivo and Oppo have way worse software experience on a smartphone one can have. Xiaomi have been actively improving the software experience, even removing ads or making them optional, removing bloatware and actively listening to the feedback they receive. Vivo and Oppo(and for that sake, even Realme UI and Oxygen OS) are all same under the hood and are all crappy, bloated mess.

bulbulito.bayagbag, 25 Aug 2021Unless Xiaomi adopts a BBK kind of marketing, I don't ... moreYeah, they seem to be going that way within China. In Shanghai for example they have 77 own brand stores (Xiaomi homes), the majority of which are in large shopping malls. A lot of these have been opened in the last 1-2 years. They definitely have a larger presence than Oppo and Vivo who focus more on smaller cities and rural areas.

rizki1, 25 Aug 2021I mean, I'm not planning to buy the p50, I want to kno... moreThat's what I was explaining. All Huawei flagships are sold out in China which means they are selling as much as they produce. The p50 pro is in high demand but has limited stock. There is very high demand for the kirin 9000 version of the phone but Huawei can't make enough phones to satisfy demand as they don't have enough kirin 9000 chips

I believe the name is big factor for huge success in global market. Names like Chuwi, Gionee, Coolpad, LeEco, and Ainol (sound like an*l lol). When you see name like this, you know it's cheap products.

Xiaomi has worst software and Chinese know that.

Aierlan, 25 Aug 2021Yep. Xiaomi has expanded their offline presence massively t... moreI can't say as I am not from China, but the Philippines, in my country, Xiaomi is still playing catch up to BBK Electronics, as they have a store/kiosk in every mall, they even have a kiosk in wet markets ha! that's how incredible their reach is. Also, they have their own service centers for every store, Xiaomi still uses a third party here in my country. They need to fix that really.

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2021Why is Xiaomi not popular as Vivo and Oppo in China? 🤔Because of the brand name? hehehe just kidding, as Oppo and Vivo only have 4 letters, easier to pronounce too. Realme and Oneplus, I noticed that the names they use tend to be easier to pronounce than say, Xiaomi. Americans, definitely won't get tongue tied on four letters.

Even Huawei's emiui is much simpler and easy to use than miui.
