        SpiritWolf, 03 Sep 2021Thousands of native Harmony OS apps atm, as much as I know.... more"thousands" of apps are not enough (and, probably most of them are for the Chinese market). I don't think they may have specific apps for European or American banks, Investments, etc.
        Harmony may be compatible with already installed Android apps, but I don't think will be possible to download more from Google.

          Useless OS for developers. From my own experience those who use this OS don't like to pay for apps...

Harmony is a re-branded Android just like man others before it! FuntouchOS, ColorOS and many many more!!! GMS on the other hand is not open source and is a part of the problem... Wanna download a game? Nope needs GMS to run because payment or account system. Does the game support Facebook login? Well it will still ask for GMS why? Because it needs it for payment option for micro-transactions.

Preload any OS/UI on a Chinese phone, as long as it can run Android apps not relying in GMS it will sell.

But Harmony OS has AOSP layer (for time being) for Android compatibility, so apps shouldn't be a problem. Youtube works fine, according to Youtube reviewers. GMS is out of question, thankfully.

                      4. What will happen to apps that need GMS?

Besides, there are users outside China (people who bought devices with Harmony OS out of the box) and will be tens of millions more after international upgrade is available.

                                  I just wish Huawei would be allowed to do business normally. They really pushed industry forward when they were active worldwide. Spying allegations or not, everyone just got lazy after they got banned from market.
