With pixel binning you do not need every single "pixel" in the sensor surface to be fully working: regular manufacturing flaws will be compensated by the neighboring "pixels." That means vastly higher yield and overall lower manufacturing costs, despite the added complexity with the binning process.

I also remember few cameras of Kodak but they were like these one time use when your 30 pictures is done so is the camera.

            Carrying over the pointless 2x zoom and useless gimmick microscope makes the whole "Kodak" thing pretty much pointless.
            The other odd thing about this decision is the fact that Kodak don't actually make cameras any more...

              What a skirmish by phone manufacrurers who can buy some sponsoring brand name from photography market leftovers. Polaroid is next right? They make awesome t-shirts these days.

                                    I thought it would be the telephoto camera that would have 50MP. That's a shame.
