They were good when they only had Unreal Engine and nothing else.
But after that they become one of the worse game library ever, between the spywares, the exclusivity cancer and all that.
The only thing they had was that they took a lower commission than Steam.
Other than that, Epic was always awful since they started to try to become big, and they used the worst anti-consumer strategies for that.
Even the free games thing, there is more than enough paid game that temporarily can be definitely acquired for free on Steam to make it actually irrelevant.
They only succeed in creating one of the most cancerous game ever and fragmenting even more the PC gaming side...
And they may have pushed a lot of people away from Unreal Engine that I once was a big fan of, but now, since the only way to use it is to have the Epic Game Store which I totally refuse to install...
And I don't think I am the only one.

Epic should mind their own business. Poor treatment to Fortnite players and streamers, clueless about Borderlands 3. Also let’s not forget Epic is now run by Tencent and Unreal Engine has monopoly system.

If some app doesn't meet the requirements of Google playstore, the developer can simply choose to release the app on some other Android app store, or on xda or on any site that the developer wants to...

Epic went from hero to zero with their childish behaviour. They're starting to become a laughing stock and a pest.
They sell fortnite virtual money which literally have an arbitrary value to brainwashed children. It's 90% profit out of thin air.! Those brainwashed children are using an iOS device apple gets a share.
Epic is more unethical than people realise.

Well its apple dont expect miracles compared to IOS android or even Harmony is milions of miles ahead and better in every single aspect.
I wonder why IOS exist if they voilating nature of ebvery developer and way they could earn some extra profit.
This greedy company should get hammered over their sneaky fingers.
The best tihing every app developer could do is send them to the courts in every country of this planet for voiding their nature of what they created and use. In this case Fortnite games.

30% of the revenues might be too much, but what Epic wants - to completely bypass Google and Apple, is not right. They broke the rules, were kicked out of the Apple Store, and then started complaining. Apple's success is largely due to them tightly controlling everything on the platform.
Epic don't know what it takes to build and maintain a platform such as Android or iOS, and then they just want to make money off them. Instead, Google and Apple should take less than 30% of the revenues earned.

I for one like how Epic entered into business with Apple, fully aware of the terms and conditions involved. Then then proceeded to work within those T&C's for years, even going so far as to appear on stage during Apple events to promote new software and boast about the revenue they had earned through the App store.
Then all of a sudden, bolstered by the frankly baffling success of what should have been a rather throw away game, Epic decided they no longer needed to play by the rules they had long before agreed to.
