limiting and making the product worse than necessary is at the core of apples philiosophy,
why no memory card slot, fm radio, headphone jack, limited access to user files from users themselves, trying to pressure and limit people to their ecosystem I could go on

Just because you think „it‘s the future“ does not mean you are right. I doubt most people actually care about the foldable feature. With the Z Flip it‘s not even a Feature, instead of just taking it out and using it, you first have to do the extra step of unfolding to get the same functionality.

I remember when CrackBerry users said they would never use a phone without a physical QWERTY. I remember when the Dell Streak came out in 2010. Imagine "5 display was considered a phablet? Then the Galaxy Note with "5.3 came out a year later and some people laughed at its giant size. Now it's considered normal size these days. Just wide at over 80 mm.
Change is scary to people. Too much uncertainty. They prefer being in a comfort zone. But technology is about evolution. You wouldn't want the same thing over and over, would you? Does eating the same food every single day for the rest of your life sound exciting? No. You want something different from time to time.
In time, foldables will be normal and going back to a slab will feel abnormal. The iPhone 13 and Pixel 6 are so "2010s". It's the 2020s. If it's not a foldable, it's not that interesting. You will return your foldable. Then a month later, you will return your iPhone 13 Pro Max because it doesn't offer a different experience like a foldable does.

Apple makes generally excellent devices, mostly devoid of gimmicks and things "just work." I use both and for most users, I'd recommend an iPhone, not an Android.
