The name of the game nowadays is creating lots of hype for incremental changes. Apple is undoubtedly the current master at doing this. I don't intend to upgrade from my Apple Watch 6 until the Apple Watch 9 series comes out. Ditto the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Tech companies have become much smarter at advertising in markets that are more mature and have increased levels of saturation to get their latest products sold.

The Apple Watch is by far the most accurate fitness watch, on par with the likes of Garmin. It has a great ecosystem, great UI, and it's well-made and reliable. Neither Samsung nor the Chinese watch manufacturers come close, which is why Apple sells so well and they don't.

Smaller bezels is a good thing; eliminating them and taking the usable screen to the edge is even better. Apple leads again and others follow. The next thing is to make them thinner; think coin ;-)

Fearghast, 10 Sep 2021You can always use something like Garmin Fenix.I switched to Garmin because I got sick of recharging every day and my daily driver is an Android, but Apple is the most pleasant and intuitive to use, and as accurate for fitness as Garmin. Amazfit is nowhere near as accurate for fitness, so it's not even a consideration.

kuo has no clue, the guy claims everything and anything every week, he is about as good at predicting apple products as a fortune teller, of course if you say a new product has EVERYTHING, at some point you will hit the nail on the head

Anonymous, 10 Sep 2021Apple still makes the best all-around watch on the market, ... moreNot even close to the best UI, and as for best smartwatch, quite frankly the samsung galaxy watch classic 4 is far superior to the current apple watch line up and i use both of them, i will dump series 6 for 7 possiblly dependig on new features, but i doubt it will be much of an upgrade, apparently series 8 is a better upgrade, which will then put apple back on top as best smartwatch depending on the competition

As a guy who went from Pebble to current offerings, I must say the way of non-reliable measurement, 2 day battery life, extremely poor software are certainly not features I would like in my next smartwatch.
A smartwatch that's not reliable is maybe "smart" but certainly not a watch.

I'm done with smartwatches. Just another device to charge next to your smartphone and wireless earbuds. I will miss using a watch to pay for stuff but will just go back using my phone. The 2-day battery life from smartwatches gets annoying constantly charging it. We need 7 to 10-day battery from them.

Apple still makes the best all-around watch on the market, by far. Best fitness sensors and implementation, and the best UI. If they can double the battery life and speed up charging, it'll be close to perfect.
