FatShady, 14 Sep 2021pathetic nintendo, no matter how much they sold they'r... moreLOL. What game is re-released every year? You're pathetic.

Plus I have a strong gaming PC so I don't need a NUC. I spent already a ton of money on stuff that I realised later that I didn't need it 100% so I am not going to do the same thing with the Steam Deck. Thanks for the suggestion :)

+ It's still just a PC, hook it up to some USB-C dock, and you have a pretty decent NUC.

Fearghast, 14 Sep 2021And what a success the PS Vita was ... in Japan and pretty ... moreThe epic fail that Vita is, it's 100% because of Sony with their BS super expensive memory cards and the lack of support soon after launch. But I wouldn't mind a Vita 2 with normal memory cards and with 100% of at least 80% support.

why people be comparing the steam deck in every switch news? these people definitely have no idea what games you can play on a switch. Maybe the steam deck will be a decent switch replacement if it runs the switch emulator decently enough when the emulator matures but as of now the best way of playing switch games is on the switch. very different devices

I canceled my pre order for the 256GB Steam Deck because I realised it's going to be useless for me and collect dust since I don't own any games and I am not planning on investing hundreds of euros in another console library when I can play them very well on my PC. Plus, the comparasion with Switch is and will be something very stupid since Nintendo was never about power and the Deck clearly destroys the Switch from any point of view.

I would say a portable console made by Sony would most likely focus on streaming and not be a separate platform.

JohnPieux, 14 Sep 2021Most people can't afford to own multiple consoles even... moreIf you use a phone with "high end" chipset and play games on your phone, I would say you certainly are not a typical Nintendo user that cares for quality/fun experience and not slot machines, free to play, pay to win, subpar PC port games.
I really do not mind owning more platforms and I find playing match three games on mobile (Bejeweled), Mario Karts on Switch and Deep Rock Galactic on my PC fairly seamless in terms of transition.
I am glad you're happy with your setup, but that's a bit limited for my own taste :)

Fearghast, 14 Sep 2021I am planing to buy Oled Switch (own the "regular one)... moreMost people can't afford to own multiple consoles even if they can technically buy multiple consoles other people don't want to clutter their minds with multiple devices that do the same thing (gaming) I'm both of those people and I use a phone with a high end chipset to play games (and I'm perfectly content with it).

I play on Switch/Vita/3ds even as of today.

And for the big stuff I have a gaming pc and notebook for on the go.

I do want the Steam Deck, but the eventual high import fees above it's price make me doubt buying it in the end.

Fearghast, 14 Sep 2021I am planing to buy Oled Switch (own the "regular one)... moreDepends on the smartphone. Steam Deck itself will net you two chinese phones that has flagship level specs. Switch is also moot, since their games doesn't lower their price over time.

Both consoles are a lot better, though. Only games worth playing on mobile are actual ports and emulators, which can be done on Steam Deck (via Proton, and some emulators have native Linux ports. Otherwise use Wine.), while good first party games are on the Switch. Generally better than mobile "games" with predatory microtransactions, severe Gacha, and "Auto" mode.

I believe Nintendo should have invested more in fixing those flimsy job pads as well (for no additional charges)

Not to mention, Oled Switch + Steam Deck is like a price of one Smartphone.

I understand the attempt to lure in more customers with a price cut, but it's not going to win me after all because of Valve's Steam Deck.

someone says $1000 gaming phones cant play switch games, just buy this one you save $700.

pathetic nintendo, no matter how much they sold they're still a scumbag of a company, re-releasing the same couple of games every year for decades. and all they managed is a 30euro price cut.
