I have a pixel 5 and have battery share

Macaulay Culkin, 14 Sep 2021Here's a major knock on the Tensor chip if you happen ... moreSamsung doesn't provide Qualcomm everywhere. We don't have snapdragon 870 powered Samsung yet. Even snapdragon 865 powered Samsung throttles a lot. Half priced Poco F3 shines by huge margin. At a price of snapdragon 888 powered phone in my country, Samsung is giving snapdragon 778G. No competition only. I am ready to pay, but there should be Qualcomm chipset in Samsung device and no blaotware. Huge hopes from Samsung One UI 4.

Everything is cool with all new 'tensor' chip, but as we all know the quote 'first puppies must drown.'
And that's why im holding my decision about this years pixel, i'd rather play the safe waiting game and get next pixel(or some 6a half year'ish later with tensor v2.0), where first anoying problems will be weeded out. (And 100% there will be some, that will impact quality of life use)
If google would 'test' the new chip on the 'fall boy' - the pixel 5a 5G and even maybe 4a 5G.. they would already have real data, and could fix and tweak all the problems for the big new '6' lineup.. Everything would be different.
But releasing it's big lineup with completely new soc, untested in real world it's bald, i hope it won't backfire.
As we know it synthetic tests in lab, isn't real life... And maybe 5000-10 000 test units that shipped to test users and reviewers, cannot be compared to 800k units sold worldwide(pixel 5 data)
Even Qualcomm that has khem in house knowledge of how to build a mobile chip, had many problems with first version of the 'new generation' SOC over last decade. Even tho on paper and in synthetic tests everything looked excellent in real life the first phones that got the new chip, wasn't so good as phones had problems with overheating, random freezing etc....

Anonymous, 15 Sep 2021Pixel 6 or iPhone 13 pro? It will be dependant on price when it will be officially launched, if pixel 6 pro is like 899€ (for 128gb version) then defenetly pixel, becauce iphone 13 pro starts at 1180€, but if the 'base' price is matched to iphone then it's a hard choice and most probably the choice goes what type of 'microsystem' you have in house/family.
If you have imac and macbook then of course iphone, if you have w10 pc, and laptop then pixel.

Time will tell who's right, wait for it to release and watch the YouTube videos testing its performance and battery life before buying if these things are a concern.

Anonymous, 14 Sep 2021Everything about the Pixel 6 smells like Samsung, including... moreYou clearly don't know what active edge is.

Here's a major knock on the Tensor chip if you happen to love playing emulators like I'm currently doing. It's as powerful as a Snapdragon 765G. And that chip was not as powerful an 845. My Pixel 3 with 845 can't play Dolphin Emulator as well as my Flip 3 with 888. You need at least 865.

You'll get better battery life with the Tensor but in the long run, things like running a emulator from a 20-year-old console starts rearing its ugly head. This is why I'm choosing Samsung over Google in this decade. They always equip their flagships with the best Qualcomm chips. They also have the customer service to cover me if I ever have problems later.

                                    With low end 5G phones.

Mid september already and zero info.

I hop they stop with ODM phones (Wildfire line).

Hey top brass at HTC.. If you're seeing this comment, then please do a follow up to your terrific U11 & U12 pro without any holes and notches.. I'll buy it in a heartbeat without any regrets. Complete with Latest and Greatest snapdragon/Mediatek processors with high refresh rate display, stereo speakers, U sonic tuned head phones, your ultra pixel camera that's even better than pixels and 512GB Internal with SD Slot.

I'm waiting for the Pixel Fold. If I want a slab that tall, it better look like a Z Fold 3 then. I'm also the type that doesn't mind the outer display being narrow. SwiftKey's size can be adjusted and I'm used to typing from narrow devices since I usually buy smaller devices.
