Lo and behold...

    The comparison is skewed because from an engineering perspective, the newer heatsink's (or cooling system as an entire entity) "design" is actually better for long-term use because it is less likely to trap as much dust, and so will remain more efficient at cooling the PS5 even after years of use and abuse, as compared to the older heatsink design. Frankly, who cleans their gaming consoles anyway? too busy gaming, yo.

And all your moral codes are dropped the minute you have the console in your hands. Those not being able to obtain the PS5 or Xbox complain about something they have no control over - chip shortages, scalpers etc.

            the new model with smaller heatsink is for digital version which sold at a loss since launch, the disc version was not sold at loss from the start, but i doubt sony gets much profit (same with microsoft xsx/xss) from ps5, only nintendo has profit from console sales, sony and ms generally receive revenue from game sales, on the other nintendo consoles by tradition has lower game number sales per unit than microsoft or sony (as mostly young males or adult males) as result of causal or kids or female market penetration,
